If there is one Hollywood relationship that seemingly came out of nowhere, but appears to work well, it’s Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton‘s romance. The pair met on the set of the singing competition series, The Voice. After going through simultaneous divorces, the couple struck up a friendship and the rest is history.

From duets to lovey social media posts, Stefani and Shelton appeared to be unbreakable, especially amid quarantine. However, as we have all discovered, being around anyone all of the time can be taxing.

Now rumors are swirling that Shelton and Stefani have been experiencing some major strain and that their relationship is struggling amid quarantine.

Inside Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s whirlwind romance

Shelton and Stefani met back in the spring of 2014 when the No Doubt frontwoman joined The Voice as a coach. At the time, she was married to Gavin Rossdale and Shelton was married to Miranda Lambert.

Just a few months later, both of the couple’s marriages had imploded. The following year, Stefani cheekily mentioned to Ryan Secrest On Air with Ryan Seacrest that she thought Shelton was “hot.” Then on  Dec. 27, 2015, the pair attended a Cardinals vs Green Bay Packers football game. It was their first public event as a couple.

In 2016 Shelton revealed how their friendship sparked something more. He told Billboard,

She didn’t tell me much, because we didn’t know each other at the time, but she said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani moved in together

Though the pair have been a couple for nearly five years, they’ve only just moved in together recently. After all, Stefani wanted to make sure her three sons were comfortable. An insider told Hollywood Life,

The house was a big commitment for both of them and they’re very, very happy to be living there. Gwen loves to cook so she loves hosting dinner parties there. Blake has taken on the role of a second father figure to Gwen’s boys and they really respect Blake. He’s very helpful now with everything for the boys, especially now that they’re under the same roof. It was a big but good step for them. Living together makes it easier for them as a couple since they’re always together, anyways.

Still, no one could have anticipated the arrival of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton may be struggling amid quarantine

An insider has revealed to US Weekly that both musicians “feel suffocated and stressed,” and are “both stretched to the limit.” Thankfully, much of this stress seems to stem from the fact that they’ve decided to move into a new home in the Encino neighborhood of LA. The insider explained,

Friends say this move has turned into a nightmare. This is the toughest period they’ve had so far without a doubt.

Thankfully, the insider also revealed that the couple communicates well and they know how to compromise and work through tension, so hopefully, this is all temporary.
