In a brand new interview with Vogue Australia, Bieber opens up about the self-confidence issues she once faced and shared how being friends with fellow models caused her to constantly doubt herself.

Hailey Bieber would compare herself to her model friends

For the past few years, Hailey Bieber has been dominating the modeling industry and continues to rise to the top.

Modeled for many top brand names such as Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, and Off-White, Bieber has had an extremely success career since she broke into the industry back in 2014.

Not only has Bieber garnered ultimate fame from her modeling career, she’s also been inspiration to many young girls around the world.

Although many fans would easily assume that the model has exceeded confidence her entire life, she recently revealed that hasn’t always been the case.

During a new interview with Vogue Australia, Bieber opens up about her struggles with self-doubt throughout her modeling career and admits that she still faces some of those confidence issues today.

Though many can agree that Bieber is absolutely beautiful, she admits that being around her model bffs Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner definitely had an affect on her self-confidence.

“My burn in the modelling industry has been slow and I’ve had to learn to be okay with that. I’m shorter than most of the girls. Even though I’m five-foot-eight, I’m not a runway girl and I totally used to feel inferior to some of my friends,” she confessed.

Although Hadid and Jenner are two of her closest friends, Bieber admits that being friends with them once made her question her future as a model.

“Look at Kendall [Jenner] and Bells [Bella Hadid] and Gigi [Hadid] … they’re all tall and doing every runway,” she continued. “For a while, there was a part of me that didn’t know if I could have the career I wanted if I couldn’t do runway. I don’t think that anymore. I had so many people, like casting directors, say: ‘We don’t think she’s a real model.'”

Bieber has learned to embrace all parts of herself

Although Hailey Bieber has been faced with self-confidence issues, she now embraces everything that makes her stand out from the rest and is happy to say that she “found my own lane”.

“You can make it work and not have to do runway, and I’ve done a good job with that,” Bieber explained. “I’m proud of myself for building a more commercial career that worked for me and being confident about it.”

While her best friends are dominating runway after runway, the model has found her own calling in the modeling industry and couldn’t be happier.

“I’ve hosted a show, I did major American campaigns, and a bunch of other things that I’ve really enjoyed,” she said. “Sometimes I feel like I’m still finding my lane, but now I know I’m going in the right direction.”
