Former Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew Hannah Ferrier returns to reality television in a matchmaking role on Australia’s The Real Love Boat.

Ferrier is currently filming the reality series, which seems to be inspired by the late 1970s dramedy The Love Boat which starred Gavin MacLeod and Lauren Tewes. Joining Ferrier is actor Darren McMullen, reporter Daniel Doody, and Captain Paolo Arrigo.

“As the custodians of the original and beloved Love Boat TV series, it is an honour to participate in a new and contemporary rendition of the show and help our Australian guests find love like the series,” Arrigo told Play 10. “It is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce Australian viewers to cruising and show why it’s one of the most-loved holidays on offer.”

Hannah Ferrier returns to the Med with ‘The Real Love Boat’

Ferrier appeared on five seasons of Below Deck Med and said the Med is her favorite place. “Hey guys!!! I am bursting with excitement to share with you that I will back on your screens soon!!” she shared on Instagram.

“After more than a decade at sea in the Mediterranean, I am so excited to join ‘The Real Love Boat’ and help all our amazing passengers find love! I’m going to be watching them very closely and helping them every step of the way on their journeys to find their perfect match.”

“I am currently filming in the Mediterranean and can’t wait to share with you the journey of our beautiful passengers finding love – not to mention my favourite backdrop in the world – the Med.”

‘Below Deck’ alum hopes Hannah can find her love

Ferrier explained that the series is a reality show and not scripted and will appear on Australia’s Channel 10. Below Deck Sailing Yacht stew Dani Soares said she’s ready to find love on Ferrier’s Love Boat. “Congratulations,” Soares commented. “Sign me up as a passenger next season.” Ferrier replied, “Doneeee!!! Would LOVE to find you a good man!!!!” But Soares said she had no faith there were any good men left. That means Ferrier really has her work cut out for her.

Ferrier said the captain is wonderful and a happily engaged man with a daughter. She also confirmed that the series will have two versions – an Australian and an American version. But did not confirm if she would appear on both. She said filming with McMullen was fun.

“He was awesome!!!” Ferrier replied to a fan asking about McMullen. “I’m not letting my husband watch any until I get back… except I follow @darrenmcmullen on socials so it’s hard not to know how it turned out.”

Also, instead of working on a superyacht, Ferrier is working on Princess Cruises Australia. Arrigo is the real captain of the vessel, which can accommodate 3,560 guests.

Hannah missed her daughter while she was filming ‘The Real Love Boat’

While Ferrier was away for the short time filming, husband Josh Roberts cared for their daughter Ava. Ferrier said she missed her child while she was away but it was important for Ava to see that when her mother leaves to film, she always comes homes. “Missing her sooooooooo much!!!! But I also think it’s really important for her to know that it’s ok if mummy goes to work – she’s always going to come home,” she replied to a fan on her Instagram post.

She got one shady comment about her daughter being sad that she’s away for work. She replied, “Why would she be sad?? She’s at home – with her father – in 2022.”

Ferrier and Roberts married in March. She currently has a podcast, Dear Reality You’re Effed and she also runs a yacht training school, Ocean International Training Academy.

No confirmation yet on an air date and if the series will be available in the US.
