In Harry Potter, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe shared their first intimate scene with each other in Deathly Hallows. After the moment in question, some may know that Radcliffe called Watson an animal because of the way she kissed. When Watson got wind of Radcliffe’s comments, the young actor shared it had her a bit speechless.

Watson made a surprising impression on Radcliffe when it came down to their kissing scene in Deathly Hallows. The young star at the time thought the intimate scene would be a bit more subdued than it was. But Watson saw the scene going a different route.

“I always thought it was going to be this soft sensual sort of moment, and suddenly there was this vigorous kissing happening to me,” Radcliffe told ITV’s Daybreak Morning Show (via People).

Watson, however, was a bit more passionate than Radcliffe was prepared for.

“She is a bit of an animal. But then, I’m not complaining. There are tens of thousands of men that would cut off limbs to be in that position,” he continued.

Their fellow co-star, Rupert Grint, found the scene so amusing that he had to “leave [the] set, because he was laughing that much.”

Emma Watson’s reaction to Daniel Radcliffe’s ‘animal’ comment

Emma Watson also had a lot to say about their make-out scene. In an interview with JoBlo, the actor revealed that a lot of thought went into readying the actors for the moment. Watson, for instance, found herself having to wear silver body paint for the take.

“They were like, ‘Oh, and P.S., we hope you don’t mind but we’d like you both to be topless and covered in silver paint.’ I was like, ‘Ookay,’ if it wasn’t weird enough before. [laughs] So yeah, it was bizarre,” Watson recalled.

Radcliffe’s humor helped the two get through the scene. It was also why Watson had an easier time kissing Radcliffe than she did Grint.

“Luckily, Dan (Radcliffe) is very funny and talkative and we could just have a laugh about it. Kissing Rupert, he’s slightly more quiet so I was like, “Oh, God, what’s he thinking?” Whereas the whole time with Dan I knew EXACTLY what he was thinking, so that helped,” she revealed.

However, Watson took notice of Radcliffe’s animal remark. For a moment, the comment left her speechless. But the Beauty and the Beast actor explained why she kissed the way she did.

“I keep hearing this, and I don’t know what to say. Danny even called me ‘an animal,’ so yeah, I guess I was just so worried about it coming across as awkward as I felt it was inside that I just wanted to make it as real as I could? So I guess I just went for it,” she shared.

As most know, Radcliffe wasn’t the only co-star Watson ended up kissing. The actor also found herself making out with Grint’s Ron Weasley with a similar passion. So much so she had to apologize.

“I ended up pouncing on Rupert. I was so desperate to get it over. After the first take, he was like, ‘Whoa, there! Where did that come from?’ I was like, ‘Sorry,'” she told MTV News.
