But when Reeves came on Ellen in 2019, he admitted to having no idea that Bullock liked him that way. “She obviously didn’t know I had a crush on her, either,” Reeves said. Still, during Bullock’s appearance, she admitted that that’s likely why she and Reeves were able to stay such good friends for so long. Despite not dating Bullock, Reeves admitted to having “a romance” with other former co-stars, though he didn’t name any names.

Reeves met Jennifer Syme in 1998, and he has since said that the two fell in love quickly. After a short time dating, the two learned they were expecting their first child. Sadly, their baby was born stillborn at eight months. A short time later, Reeves and Syme broke up, and she died in a car accident in 1999.
