The Kardashians are such a powerful force within the entertainment world that they almost make their own gravity, pulling other celebrities into their orbit. In this way, the network of Kardashian-adjacent star interactions continues to grow.

Since the Kardashians are so influential, it makes sense that other stars would connect with them professionally to tap into their considerable mass of followers. Recently, Heidi Klum joined some other former Victoria’s Secret greats to do a photoshoot for Kim Kardashian’s brand SKIMS. Klum opened up about the experience.

Victoria’s Secret has long been home to some stunning models who have been the face of both the brand and the high-fashion industry. Heidi Klum is among the most famous of the models who used her work with the lingerie brand to launch a successful career in fashion and entertainment.

Recently, Klum teamed up with other former Victoria’s Secret models for a photoshoot to promote Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand SKIMS. The shoot included Tyra Banks, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Candice Swanepoel. Kardashian herself also stepped into the mix.

Together, the women showed off a barely-there look that showcased the smooth design of Kardashian’s signature shapewear.

Kardashian was in awe of the supermodels that she’d spent her life looking up to. As Klum explained to Extra, “She was just like, ‘I’ve been watching you guys all this time and now I can’t even believe it, you’re all here in my studio and you’re shooting this for me.” That’s when Klum decided that Kardashian needed to join in on the fun.

“I was like, ‘Well, why are you not in the photos?’ and she’s like, ‘No, no, it’s all about you girls,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, you should be in the photos.’ The clothes came off. She just hopped right in.”

Klum describes a set that was full of fun, glamour, and connecting with women she respects and enjoys. She also revealed that they indulged a bit on the set of the shoot: “When we were shooting, she had like a truck of beignets, which I’ve never had before, so that was a little tricky, shooting in lingerie, also with five beignets in your stomach. That was a lot but good.”

Kardashian is among the most well-known names on the planet, and she’s definitely used her connections in high places to help build up her brand awareness. The former Angels were certainly a boost for the shapewear company, but Kardashian has scored major names in past campaigns as well.

As Page Six reports, other celebrity campaigns have included Kate Moss, Megan Fox, and Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

As Glamour explains, all that star power — and of course, rave reviews from customers — has helped the brand grow to an astonishing height. Worth an estimated $3.2 billion in early 2022 (after just launching in 2019), the brand has already expanded beyond its initial focus of underwear. Never one to miss an opportunity, Kardashian “wisely expanded to include cozy loungewear including hoodies, matching sets, sweats, and slippers at the start of the pandemic.”

Collaborations and partnerships define the brand and point to Kardashian’s savvy understanding of influence culture. In October 2021, SKIMS had a limited collaboration with luxury brand Fendi. The result was $3 million in sales within the first ten minutes! Elsewhere, SKIMS provided the loungewear for Team USA at the Olympics, helping to put the brand front and center with yet another group of influencers.
