ā€˜High School Musical: The Musical: The Seriesā€™ premiered on Disney+ during November 2019

Putting a high school musical is a lot harder than it looks, especially when you have no prior experience with theater. Ricky, portrayed by Joshua Bassett, figured that out pretty quickly, after being cast as Troy in his schoolā€™s production of High School Musical.

His talented, but humble, ex-girlfriend, Nini, portrayed by Olivia Rodrigo, is cast as Gabriella. Things only get more complicated from there. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is one of the titles available on Disneyā€™s streaming platform, Disney+. However, is this series available on Netflix?

ā€˜High School Musical: The Musical: The Seriesā€™ is a Disney+ original

When Disney premiered Disney+ during November 2019, it included a slew of original content exclusive to its streaming platform. That includes the highly anticipated live-action Star Wars television show, The Mandalorian, and documentaries like One Day at Disney.

Unfortunately for Netflix subscribers, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is a Disney+ original. That means it can only be streamed with a subscription to Disneyā€™s service. (Itā€™s not even available on the network, Disney Channel. Not yet, anyway.) Additionally, other Disney movies, including the original High School Musical, are available for subscribers to binge-watch.

How many episodes are left in ā€˜High School Musical: The Musical: The Seriesā€™?

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiered its first episode at Disney+ā€™s launch date, during Fall 2019. Reportedly, there are ten episodes in the first season of this spin-off, with the finale premiering on Jan. 10, 2020. Thereā€™s no official premiere date for this mockumentaryā€™s second season. Still, fans, and cast members, shared their love for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on social media.

ā€œWhen I initially heard the idea I was reluctant as well with the whole concept, and upon reading the script I was sold,ā€ Actor Joshua Bassett said during an interview with Pop Sugar. ā€œI was like, ā€˜I will do whatever it takes to be part of this thing.ā€™ The show speaks for itself. I think people [will] see the show and then theyā€™ll get what weā€™re doing because it doesnā€™t need to rely on anything else. And I think theyā€™re going to love it, I really do. Because I was an OG fan and I absolutely loved the show.ā€

Episodes of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series are available on Disney+, in addition to High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical: Senior Year. To learn more about this streaming service and to subscribe, visit their website.
