With their first table reading done, fans are closer than ever to the second season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. What’s next for Nini, Ricky, and the rest of the Wildcats? Well, viewers are invited to “be their guests,” as they put on another high school production of a Disney musical. In fact, this musical was revealed in an Instagram post from this streaming platform.
‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ premiered at Disney+’s launch date
They were all in this together. During the first season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Disney Channel fans met characters like Nini, Ricky, Carlos, and Gina. Together, they put on a production of High School Musical and although there were a few bumps in the road, they put on a great show.
Still, the season left on a bit of a cliffhanger. Will Nini be going to a different school? Will Gina have to move away from her new friends? What will Miss Jenn pick for the next musical? After a few weeks of waiting, fans finally have an answer to one of those questions. Or, at least some fans think so.
What production is the cast of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ doing next?
It’s a take as old as time and now, it’s coming to the halls of East High School. On Feb. 5, 2020, Disney+ shared a clip from the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. In it, Joe Serafini, who portrays Seb, played the title song from Beauty and the Beast on the piano.
The other cast members from the series gathered around the piano and joined on the song before Joshua Bassett announced that they’re working on season 2. Of course, some fans took to social media, sharing their excitement about the upcoming episodes.
Fans started casting ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ characters into the musical, ‘Beauty and the Beast’
Once Disney+ shared their clip of the cast singing around the piano, this series became a top trending topic on Twitter. Some fans took to social media, sharing their dream cast for this production of Beauty and the Beast.
“Wait, so apparently HSMTMTS is coming back and they’re doing Beauty and the Beast. This doesn’t make much sense to me but if either Gina or Ashlyn don’t play Belle what’s even the point,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Hold on…what if Kourtney gets Belle and E.J. is the Beast…and then Kourtney and E.J… hold on, wait, I’m thinking,” another Twitter user wrote. Although, some fans aren’t entirely convinced that the musical will be Beauty and the Beast. (Seb as Tess Tyler from Camp Rock? That would be everything.)
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 2 premieres sometime during Fall 2020. Until then, fans can watch episodes of the first season of this streaming platform. To learn more about Disney+ and to subscribe, visit their website.
