Hippo Campus released single, ‘Ride or Die’ during January 2022
There are hundreds of “ride or die” Hippo Campus fans. It made sense that when this rock band released their third single of LP3, they chose the track “Ride or Die.” This song and its corresponding music video premiered on Jan. 11, 2022, just weeks ahead of their full-length album.
“It’s one of my favorite songs on the record,” frontman Jake Luppen said in a statement. “You can really hear everyone in the band doing their thing.”
This single comes just weeks after the band’s premiere of “Boys” and “Semi Pro,” the former earning over 3 million plays on the streaming platform Spotify. Hippo Campus also released some promotional material on their social media platforms, including pictures of fans finding one of 1,000 free limited-edition discs at record stores all across the globe.
When does Hippo Campus’ ‘LP3’ debut?
After months of anticipation, fans will finally get a new full-length album from the American rock band. Hippo Campus’ upcoming album, titled LP3, premieres on Feb. 4, 2022. The forthcoming collection is available to pre-save on Spotify and pre-add on Apple Music.
LP3 features 10 new tracks from the band, “Semi Pro,” “Boys,” and “Ride or Die” among them. Already music videos featuring the already-released singles are available on YouTube, featuring glimpses of the band members and themes of the album as a whole.
According to a press release, this upcoming release will be Hippo Campus’ “most complete work yet,” portraying a “freshly-inked portrait excavating young adulthood and identity and, more importantly, how that personal identity fits into a larger camaraderie.”
This year also marks the start of Hippo Campus’ Europe and North American-based tour, which kicks off on Feb. 1 in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Some tour dates have already sold out, with tickets for most venues now available for sale.
Hippo Campus released well-known tracks ‘Buttercup’ and ‘Way It Goes’
With several years of releasing music as a band, Hippo Campus earned millions of monthly Spotify listeners, with songs like “Buttercup,” “Way It Goes,” and “Bad Dream Baby” earning international recognition.
On Jan. 24, the rock band will perform their recently released single on The Late Late Show with James Corden. During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Luppen even spent time pursuing a solo project, Lupin, which sports an experimental pop sound via themes of self-discovery.
