How close were the princes when they were younger?

Prince William was born on June 21, 1982, and a little more than two years later Prince Harry was born on Sept. 15, 1984. The brothers were reportedly very close growing up as they are members of the royal family who share a bond few could ever understand.

When they were kids they got to experience a lot of things together that royals before them never have thanks to their late mother‘s parenting approach and how she wanted to raise them. From eating at McDonald’s to trips to amusement parks, they did some of the same stuff millions of other children enjoyed.

They also had so much in common like attending the same boarding school, Eton College, and spending their gap years traveling abroad. The men also enrolled in the military.

When William and Kate Middleton got together, Harry welcomed his sister-in-law into the family and the three of them were often seen at events laughing and joking with each other. Harry was his brother’s best man when they got married, and seven years later William had that role in Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle.

But something changed and rumors that the siblings were feuding circulated for months. Those reports then gained steam after the princes split courts and the Sussexes moved out of Kensington Palace.

Prince Harry addressed the feud rumors when he spoke to journalist Tom Bradby during the ITV documentary.

“Inevitably stuff happens… We’re certainly on different paths at the moment,” he admitted. “I’ll always be there for him and as I know, he’ll always be there for me. We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy but I love him dearly.”

The royal added, “The majority of stuff is created out of nothing. As brothers, we have good days and we have bad days.”

Harry’s comments have led many to speculate why the brothers who were once so tight began feuding in the first place. Sources told Us Weekly that it has to do with a bit of jealousy on Harry’s part.

“There’s always been a part of Harry that felt like he was living in his brother’s shadow,” the royal insider said. “He doesn’t envy the responsibility that comes with being the future king of England, but William’s the ‘golden boy’ and Harry feels like he has a lot to live up to.”

Whether or not that’s the case, the one thing everyone is hoping for is that the men end up repairing their relationship in the very near future.
