Andy Cohen and The Real Housewives | Andy Cohen Instagram

Just when Bravo fans didn’t think O Come OG Faithful could have been any better, Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen dropped some major tea. Fans were already highly entertained knowing that Teresa Guidice from The Real Housewives from New Jersey was not wearing any “underwears.” Missing from the original lineup was Bethenny Frankel, who Cohen said was under the weather.

But as fans reveled in all things Real Housewives, Cohen took a hard left and revealed that he, indeed, is about to become a father. And fatherhood is coming a lot faster than anyone anticipated.

Cohen teased about his news at first

It appeared as though the show was winding down so Cohen took those last few minutes to make his huge announcement. Cohen seemed to reflect on “something” personal, but no one anticipated what his personal news could possibly be.

“I am full of so much gratitude,” People recounted. “Tonight I want to share a little personal news of my own. To the viewers at home, I call you my friends at home because we are friends. You have supported me through almost 10 years of live… This has been an incredible joyous journey with you all. I am grateful to be able to live my dream every day and grateful to you for coming along for the ride.”

He saved the best for last

He continued by saying, “And throughout it, I’ve always tried to be as transparent as possible about my life — I overshare and expect everyone to do the same.”

“Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science — if all goes according to plan in about six weeks time I’m going to become a father.”

And fatherhood is coming up quickly

The ladies squealed and looked shocked as an emotional Cohen made his baby announcement. He added he is expecting the baby via surrogate. “Thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future,” he “Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life.”

And added, “Though it’s taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet.” That rewarding chapter is coming up fast as he revealed on the show that the baby is due in six weeks.

The happy news is catching on

As news spread, many took to Twitter to wish Cohen well. “So many congratulations @Andy – you’re going to be an incredible father,” tweeted Meghan McCain.”I am so happy for you. You bring so much joy and laughter in this sometimes dark world, what wonderful news!”

“Awe @Andy You’ve had a lot of practice being a dad to bunch of middle-aged woman /children,” wrote former Real Housewife, Brandi Glanville. “You will be able to handle anything after that Mazel tov.”

Plus, congratulations came from Cohen’s hometown. “@Andy congratulations!! Seeing your news on IG was the best way to start the day,” tweeted Jacob Long from Cohen’s hometown St. Louis station. “That child is so lucky to get you for a dad. Serious life goals.”
