While we hope every Hollywood marriage has a strong sense of commitment, it’s safe to say Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s marriage is the greatest Millennial example. Despite having everything against them in their marriage succeeding, both are fighting every day to make it work, including recurring marriage counseling.

Both seem to at least understand one another thoroughly, making it easy to want to root for them. When you look back to how the two met, you’ll wish for their success even more. Their eerily ironic first meeting is now a bit famous thanks to a video showcased on NBC’s Today a while back.

Of course, they had a second meeting later where they finally clicked, no matter if destiny seemed already in place.

When did Justin Bieber first meet Hailey Baldwin?

Almost 10 years ago, a fortuitous event occurred in the life of Justin and Hailey. Hailey’s father, Stephen Baldwin, took his daughter to go see Justin who was performing on Today as a new teen pop phenomenon. At only 15 years old at the time, Justin probably wasn’t thinking about hooking up with anyone serious then. Nevertheless, he and Selena Gomez were only a year away from hooking up and becoming an item.

Stephen took the initiative and wanted to make sure Hailey met Justin. This did happen very briefly (in the middle of crowd chaos) while seeming like a friendly fan meeting. Now we have to wonder what was going through the minds of each, as in sensing something unusual.

Perhaps Hailey was the one who felt this was the beginning of something, no matter if was years away from becoming anything romantic.

Had it not been for Justin’s off-and-on relationship with Selena, we have to wonder if he would have become more serious with Hailey sooner.

When did Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin become friends?

Based on media pics of Hailey attending Justin’s concerts (including his movie debut) after their 2009 meeting, it makes one wonder whether Stephen was doing everything he could to make them a couple. They finally did become casual friends in 2014 thanks to a connection of both knowing the Kardashians/Jenners.

There were even rumors of the two starting to date in 2014 since it was right after Selena and Justin’s first major (though temporary) breakup. Hailey had to deny she was involved with Justin then. Looking back, we have to see they obviously clicked either then, or already knew there was something brewing.

Considering Justin could have been involved with a lot of different girls/women (and probably was anyway), being able to maintain a friendship with Hailey obviously meant they’d nurtured mutual respect.

One thing we also see now is had Justin and Selena married, they maybe wouldn’t haven’t stayed together. They were one of those relationships where they couldn’t be without each other while also unable to live with each other.

How Selena Gomez and Hailey Baldwin clash in Justin Bieber’s life

Starting in 2016, we started to hear more about Justin and Hailey being “very good friends” and mentions of not being exclusive. Some might say this was code for being somewhat romantic, but still open to other relationships.

They obviously went their separate ways, including a brief collision of sorts between Selena and Hailey. When Justin went back, yet again, to Selena in 2017, the latter was concerned about Hailey’s involvement in Justin’s life. Selena and Justin reportedly agreed on doing Christian therapy to solve the problem.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t do Spotless Mind treatments for someone you truly love. Maybe Justin will always be haunted at having two loves in his life (for life). Hailey seems to be the one most compatible, though, even through the inevitable bumps in the road they’ll continue to encounter.
