Since 2002, when Kelly Clarkson became the first American Idol winner, people all over the world have been obsessed with her angelic voice. Since then, Kelly’s career has skyrocketed as she has sold over 25 million albums around the world, landed a few different acting gigs, became a coach on NBC’s hit singing competition show, The Voice, and is even has her own talk show that is set to premiere this fall.

With such a demanding work schedule, it is hard to imagine that she has any time left for a personal life. However, apparently, Kelly is also wanting to add the title “Super Woman” to her resume. When she is not working, she is busy being a mom and stepmom to her and husband, Brandon Blackstock’s children. Brandon has two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage. Brandon and Kelly have two children of their own, a daughter named River who is 4 years old and a son named Remington who is 3.

Although trying to juggle four kids and a hectic career can be daunting, Kelly has some very good parenting tips that seem to make her job as a mother much easier. Here are a few of the best parenting tactics th Piece by Piece singer uses on her own children.

She makes sure to unwind when things get too hectic

Even if you don’t have any children, you can probably imagine just how stressful it can be to work a full-time job and trying to raise four kids at the same time. Luckily, when life gets too stressful, Kelly has a way to relax and unwind in order to make sure that she doesn’t lose her cool while she is at home. According to Baby GagaOne of Kelly’s favorite things that she does to keep her calm is quilting. “I love putting on vinyl, having wine, and quilting,” she said. “It’s fun. I am not great at it, but I like it.”

In the past, when she has been asked about her children, she had reportedly said:  “They are challenging. Wine is necessary.” She also went on to say, “They are great though … they teach me.”

She only gives one warning

When it comes to disciplining her children, Kelly has said that both she and her husband have southern values and really only like to tell their children to do something one time. “There is no good cop with my husband and I,” she said on the Darren and Mo Morning Show on 98.1 FM. “We are both very strict – we’re very southern. You know, we’ll tell you once, and then I really don’t like repeating myself.”

Although she admits to being strict with her children, giving her loving personality, we can’t imagine the 36-year-old singer being to harsh on her children.

When her kids are misbehaving, they don’t get to go to their room

In today’s world, most kids have their bedrooms set up like a dream vacation. With TVs, video games, computers, and a wide range of other fun toys and activities, most children could probably spend days in their rooms without ever complaining. That is why when Kelly’s kids are grounded, they are not ever sent to their rooms. Instead, they have to spend the majority of their waking hours with their parents. They may not be having much fun, but at least Kelly can both keep an eye on them and have some bonding time with her kids.

Nobody ever said that having a large family is easy. When you add in a busy career into the mix, it can be especially hard. However, for Kelly Clarkson, she makes it all look so easy.
