Blake Griffin might not be at the height of his career anymore, but there was a time when he was one of the brightest young names in basketball. His high-flying dunks and natural charisma made him a favorite of NBA fans throughout his time in Los Angeles. Now a member of the Detroit Pistons in his thirties, however, Griffin’s world has changed thanks to a recent challenge unlike anything on the court – fatherhood.

Blake Griffin’s high-flying career

Griffin was a shoo-in as the number one pick in the 2009 NBA Draft after one year at Oklahoma. His athleticism combined with a monster build made him a chore for even the greatest defenders to cover. As the beginning of his NBA Career took form, however, Griffin suffered a setback after injuring his kneecap during a preseason game. He watched what would have been his rookie season from the bench.

By 2010, however, Griffin was ready to take the court. He quickly put any doubts that the injury would hurt his career to rest thanks to a dominant rookie campaign next to an aging Baron Davis. It was the next year, however, that Griffin showed that he was more than a human highlight reel. Paired with Chris Paul, Griffin and his frontcourt mate, DeAndre Jordan, gave birth to Lob City.

While Lob City never won any championships, the show they put on was the talk of the town in the years leading up to the Warriors’ dynasty. Their lack of postseason success, however, ended it with a whimper. The team broke up and now Griffin, while still a bonafide star, is showing signs of slowing down thanks to rampant injuries. He still finds a way to make headlines in other ways, however.

Blake Griffin’s relationships

In recent years, Griffin’s dating life began to grab gossip headlines where sports media used to dominate. His relationship with Kendall Jenner made him fodder for a different type of media. That relationship quickly went sour after Griffin moved from Los Angeles to Detroit, however. On the rebound, however, Griffin found another high-profile relationship with a pop star.

After calling it quits with Jenner, Griffin was spotted hanging out with Tinashe in Las Vegas. While the extent of their relationship was never fully confirmed, the couple never denied their relationship. Griffin is now in a relationship with Detroit sports reporter Brooke Fletcher. It was Griffin’s past relationships, however, that began to show a different side of the All-Star power forward.

What Shows Has NBA Player Blake Griffin Appeared In?

Before his high-profile relationships, Griffin was in a long-term relationship with Brynn Cameron. Cameron and Griffin were a couple for many years before breaking up in 2017 around the same time that Griffin was seen with Jenner. A later lawsuit claimed that Griffin left Cameron and the couple’s two kids, Ford and Finley, to pursue the Hollywood relationship with the reality TV star.

The lawsuit, which sought child support, was settled out of court. Before this last season, Griffin was spotted with his two children at Disneyland, according to In Touch Weekly. He appears to try to keep them out of the spotlight and kept a low profile as the family enjoyed a much-needed day out. He appeared to be happy with his kids and unwilling to let any outside drama affect his role as a father.

Griffin might never have reached the superstar status that many sought after him, but he has enjoyed a long and prosperous career as a star. As he goes into the final chapter of his career, however, he might be learning that some things are bigger than basketball.
