At 6’5″ tall, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is hard to ignore. The semi-retired wrestler is known to millions as ‘The Brahma Bull,’ ‘The Great One,’ and ‘The People’s Champion’ but to at least one person, he’s simply Dad. How many kids does Johnson have?

Here’s what we found out:

The early years

Dwayne Douglas Johnson was born into a wrestling family in the San Francisco Bay Area town of Hayward, California on May 2, 1972. His father, Wayde Douglas Bowles was a WWF tag team champion wrestler who sometimes went by the name Rocky Johnson in the ring. Dwayne’s mom was a Honolulu-born beauty named Feagaimaleata Fitisemanu Maivia ‘Ata’ Johnson.

The Johnson family moved around a lot, settling for a while in Grey Linn, New Zealand where the future The Mummy Returns actor briefly attended Richmond Road Primary School before returning stateside. After matriculating from Hamden Middle School in Connecticut, the family relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii where Johnson attended McKinley High.

In the summer between 10th and 11th grades, the family moved yet again, this time to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where young Johnson excelled in track and field events at Freedom High School. It was at this school that the future star evinced a remarkable talent for football and wrestling. In fact, it was his gridiron prowess in high school that got him noticed by talent scouts, several of whom presented Johnson with athletic scholarship opportunities. Johnson accepted a scholarship to play defensive tackle at the University of Miami but was sidelined by injury shortly after meeting the coed undergraduate who would become his first wife.

First wife and baby No. 1

On May 3, 1997, three years after meeting, Johnson tied the knot with Dany Garcia. The couple welcomed a daughter, Simone Alexandra, on August 14, 2001. Johnson and Garcia called it quits after a decade of marriage but continue to co-manage the multi million dollar empire they founded together. Their divorce was amicable and Garcia’s current husband, Dave Rienzi, is one of The Rock’s personal trainers.

Johnson’s varied showbiz career

In addition to his well received displays of wrestling on WWE Sunday Night Heat from 1998 to 2000, Johnson provided his own voice in a video game, WWF Smackdown. Afterwards, Johnson turned his talent, humor, and good looks toward Hollywood.

In 2001, Johnson delivered a remarkable star turn as the Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns. A year later, Johnson reprised the role in a movie by the same name. Between 2002 and 2003, Johnson’s exotic countenance and voice were featured in numerous videos and video games, including WWE Wrestle Mania X-8, WWE Crush Hour, and The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian.

Wife No. 2 and more kids, too

While filming The Game Plan in 2006, Johnson met his next future wife, songwriter Lauren Hashian. At the time, he was still married, but the pair began dating shortly after his divorce from Garcia was finalized. Interestingly, Hashian is the daughter of rock drummer Sib Hashian who played and recorded with the legendary band, Boston. Sib was performing on a cruise ship in the Bahamas when he collapsed and died on stage at age 67.

Hashian and Johnson have been romantically linked since 2007 but to date the pair have not married. They do, however, have two daughters together. Jasmine was born in 2015, and their most recent arrival, Tiana Gia, was born in 2018.

So, there you have it. As of the time of this writing, 46-year-old Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the proud dad of three daughters.
