How old is JoJo?

Born Dec. 20, 1990, in Brattleboro, Vermont, Joanna “JoJo” Noëlle Levesque is currently 30-years-old. As a child, she appeared on several talk shows to perform songs, ultimately leading to a contract with Blackground Records at the age of 12.

The following year, she released one of her most popular songs to date, “Leave (Get Out),” which hit number one on the Top 40 chart. The entry made her the youngest solo act to achieve the feat.

Due to troubles with her label, she didn’t release another studio album until 2016 with Atlantic Records. In 2020, she released two projects and began to tour before the coronavirus pandemic prevented it from continuing.

The singer and actor appeared on the fifth season of the singing competition series, The Masked Singer disguised as the Black Swan. She detailed her label woes in her opening package, noting she believed her ability to sing caused her to become “someone else’s prey.”

She continued, “I was caught up, hypnotized by a Hollywood deal I couldn’t resist; one that would make my dreams come true. But there was a steep price. I fell under its spell, and I worried I’d never see the light again when all of a sudden, my faithful flock flew to my rescue and set me free. So I’m here to show the world that I’m in control, and I’m ready to own that stage.”

Other clues throughout the season include the letters RV highlighted on a wanted poster, a bishop chess piece, and a shark fin headband. During the May 25 episode, she was unmasked.

Although she didn’t walk away with the crown, JoJo finished runner-up and noted she faced her fears by appearing on the show because she “got scared” when she had to cancel her 2020 tour due to the coronavirus pandemic.
