John Cena is well-known for his wrestling career and transition to acting. The 44-year-old started lifting weights as a preteen and later chose to pursue bodybuilding. He graduated with a degree in exercise physiology from Springfield College in Massachusetts in 1998.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Cena has bulging muscles and can lift an enormous amount of weight, as evidenced by his exploits in the ring. But exactly how tall is Cena, and how much does he weigh?

The American wrestler started his career with Ultimate Pro Wrestling in 2000 under the moniker “The Prototype,” as Fandom reports. He rapidly developed in wrestling entertainment, where he managed to win the Ultimate Pro Wrestling heavyweight championship in his debut in 2000, increasing his stardom in the industry.

In 2001, the UPW winner signed with the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) organization, a WWE training academy. Later in 2002, Cena won the OVW heavyweight championship, making him a full-time wrestler.

The OVW heavyweight champion started performing in the Smackdown division of the WWE. He became the WWE champion in 2005 and later joined the Raw division. There, Cena built his profile and emerged as the face of the brand.

Cena’s wrestling signature moves included the “spine buster,” where he picks up his opponent, spins him around, and drops him before delivering the “attitude adjustment.” This involves flipping opponents onto the floor after placing them over his shoulders.

In 2005, the former rapper released an album titled You Can’t See Me with his cousin Tha Trademarc. It premiered on the Billboard 200 chart at No.15.

While pursuing his wrestling profession, Cena began acting in action movies like 12 Round (2009) and The Reunion (2011). Cena was also featured in The Suicide Squad and F9: The Fast Saga in 2021. He proves his versatility in films like Trainwreck (2015), Vacation Friends (2017), Blockers (2018), and Playing with Fire (2019).

Recently, Cena starred as the title character in Peacemaker (2022), a TV series based on a DC Comics superhero. His passion for authorship has seen him write a children’s book, Elbow Grease, along with titles like Elbow Grease: Fast Friends (2020) and Be a Work in Progress (2021).

According to Jacked Gorilla, Cena eats around eight small meals daily and various supplements for optimal muscle development and recovery. At 6’1″ tall, his workout principles and diet have helped him attain a bodyweight of 251 pounds.

Cena’s workout principles lean toward developing muscles. Therefore, he does all manner of heavy lifting using typical gym equipment like dumbbells and barbells as well as his body weight to do workouts from head to toe.

The Massachusetts native focuses on different body parts each day of the week, allowing the muscles he is not working to rest. Cena also has a workout schedule that gives him a day off to let his whole body recover.

Avoiding junk food, the former bodybuilder’s diet entails lean proteins and is low in simple carbohydrates. Cena also consumes complex carbohydrates like peanut butter, which give him energy while promoting healthy fat burning.

According to Screen Rant, some of Cena’s upcoming projects involve films like Argylle, an action thriller that follows a James Bond-like spy on a global adventure. The film, expected to premiere in 2022, will be the first in a trilogy and will accompany Ellie Conway’s eponymous book launch.

Cena is also expected to star in Amazon’s Head of State. Screenwriter Harrison Query and producers John Rickard and Peter Safran are linked to the project, which has not yet received a release date.

Fans will have to wait for information about Cena’s new mission on Peacemaker and how it might relate to other DCEU projects.
