Fans of Blake Shelton could probably tell that the singer is very tall. He’s usually towering over people in photos and on television. This is how tall he is and what The Voice coaches and contestants have said about awkwardly noticing his height.

Blake Shelton’s height shocked contestants of ‘The Voice’

The country singer has coached contestants for many years. So they tend to have expectations of him and sometimes they still get surprised.

Oliv Blu from season 16 told Country Music Nation she was surprised he was “exactly” who she thought he was from watching The Voice. So his joker persona seems to be very real. Gyth Rigdon from the same season talked about realizing just how tall Shelton is in person.

“It’s kind of an awkward moment,” Rigdon said. “I feel little.” He’s not the only person who feels that way standing next to Shelton.

Kelly Clarkson joked about taking photos with him

Kelly Clarkson once appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and talked about being a coach on The Voice. She said it’s been easy to joke with the fellow coaches because they all know each other.

“I do go in on Blake a lot though,” she said. “He’s kind of a giant target.” Meyers then noted the country singer is a “giant man.”

Clarkson then said, “Every time we do a photo together for, like, any promo you see, I’m always on two steps, or otherwise I look like an Oompa Loompa because I’m 5’3”.”

The singer typically towers over other coaches. That’s because he’s 6’4” tall, which makes him about one foot taller than Clarkson. He addressed that most people assume he’s taller.

“Man…I think I’m 6’4”, and I’ve had people tell me they think I’m 6’5”, but that’s with my boots on,” Shelton told Entertainment Weekly. Shelton has also joked about being taller with a mullet. He shared that shorter celebrities have an easier time.

“It’s easier for them to find clothes,” he said. “That’s the sucky thing about being tall and being a fat-a** at the same time. Nothing fits.”

He continued, “If you see me on red carpets and I’ve got a look of disgust on my face, it’s because I’m uncomfortable with whatever I have to be wearing.”

Shelton’s height seems to make work awkward for him when it comes to group photoshoots and getting dressed for events. Contestants are also taken by surprise when they meet him.
