With ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder coming to a close, it’s hard to keep up with all of the many murders Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) and her gang are covering up. While Annalise likes to tell her students that she is saving them, it’s Bonnie Winterbottom (Liza Weil) who murdered various times to cover-up the mistakes of others.

‘How to Get Away With Murder’ Season 1 — Bonnie covers up for Annalise

Although the primary storyline in season 1 of How to Get Away With Murder is over who killed Sam Keating (Tom Verica), there were two other deaths critical to the plot. Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber) killed Lila Stangard on Sam’s orders, and Bonnie murdered Rebecca Sutter (Katie Findlay).

The Keating 4 was keeping Rebecca in Annalise’s basement to find out the truth about her relationship with Lila. They thought she might have something to do with Lila’s death. However, Rebecca threatened to go to the police about Sam’s death. So, Bonnie pulled a plastic bag over Rebecca’s head and suffocated her to death in a fit of rage — and to protect Annalise.

Bonnie began her covering up to save other people and has not stopped yet. She had nothing to do with Sam’s murder, but now she has blood on her hands, too.

‘How to Get Away With Murder’ Season 2 — Bonnie cleans up Asher’s mess

In season 2, we see Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns) working to take down Annalise by putting pressure on Asher Millstone’s (Matt McGorry) family. Asher’s father, Judge William Millstone (John Posey), kills himself after Emily goes public with incriminating things from his past.

In a fit of rage over his dead father, Asher runs over Emily with his car. Instead of letting Asher take the fall for it, Bonnie helps to cover up the incident by tossing Emily off the roof of the Hapstall mansion.

In protecting Asher, Bonnie is continuing to make sure that Annalise does not face criminal charges. Bonnie is afraid that Asher might spill things about Sam’s death to the police if he was on trial for murder.

In Season 5 of ‘How to Get Away With Murder’, Bonnie finishes Nate’s victim

The considerable mystery surrounding season 5 was the death of Assistant District Attorney Ronald Miller (John Hensley). We find out late in the season that Nate Lahey Jr. (Billy Brown) almost beat Ron to death at Connor and Asher’s wedding. He and Bonnie believe that the A.D.A. ordered the hit on his father.

Although Bonnie is romantically involved with Miller, she suffocates him in the snow after she sees what Nate has done. Then she instructs Nate to dispose of his body. The two formulate a plan together to get away with the murder.

For the third time, Bonnie is guilty of murdering to save someone else from going to prison. We will find out if she is charged with anything when How to Get Away With Murder returns for its final episodes on April 30, 2020.
