Creator and showrunner Keenen Ivory Wayans brought audiences the side-splitting sketch comedy series, In Living Color. The FOX show featured some of the funniest actors in Hollywood performing hilariously written bits. ‘In Living Color’ boasted a deep bench of comedic actors

Wayans assembled a hysterical team of writers and actors for In Living Color. The series, which aired for five seasons, vaulted many of the cast members to superstardom.

Alongside Foxx and Grier, other notable In Living Color stars include Jim Carrey, Tommy Davidson, and the Wayans siblings — Damon, Marlon, Shawn, and Kim. Eagle-eyed fans may have also spotted recording artist Jennifer Lopez and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba performing with the show’s Fly Girls dance troop.

‘In Living Color’ made Jamie Foxx and David Alan Grier household names

In Living Color was popular with fans who enjoyed the edgy content and biting humor. Some of the most popular bits featured Foxx and Grier. Foxx won fans over with his recurring schtick as the unlucky-in-love female character, Wanda. And Before Foxx snagged an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 biopic, Ray, Grier spoofed the musician on In Living Color.

Both Foxx and Grier became known for their spot-on celebrity impressions and remarkable ability to maintain composure while delivering comedic lines of dialogue. To the delight of fans, they are coming back together again as collaborators on a new project.

Jamie Foxx and David Alan Grier have reunited for a scripted comedy

Coming soon to Netflix, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me is a new scripted comedy that revolves around a father-daughter relationship. Deadline reported that Foxx will serve as the executive producer of the show, which was inspired by the star’s experiences in fatherhood.

In addition to his behind-the-scenes duties, Foxx will appear on screen in the leading role, with Jessie actor Kyla-Drew playing the part of his daughter. Fellow In Living Color alum Grier has also joined the comedy in an unspecified role.

Rounding out the cast are Porscha Coleman from Ballers and Jonathan Kite of 2 Broke Girls fame. Roswell, New Mexico’s Heather Hemmens, and Happily Divorced star Valente Rodriguez have signed on as recurring characters.

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me is not the first sitcom that Foxx or Grier have been attached to. After In Living Color, Foxx found success starring on The Jamie Foxx Show, which aired for five seasons. Since then, he has been recognized for his powerful performances in movies, including Collateral and Project Power.

Like Foxx, Grier also landed small-screen gigs after In Living Color. Grier starred opposite Bonnie Hunt on Life with Bonnie for two seasons. Years later, he nabbed a starring role on The Carmichael Show, which aired for three seasons. In recent years, Grier has racked up film roles and guest spots on popular television series, such as Black Lady Sketch Show and The Resident.

Encores of In Living Color are currently airing on TVONE and Aspire network.
