She may have lost her best friend but other than that, life is good for Issa Dee. Now working as a “culture curator,” the lead character of HBO’s Insecure has a thriving career, a nice apartment, and two beautiful men vying for her affection.

As the season 4 finale approaches, fans have been sharing what they think is next for Issa, including who she’ll choose between Lawrence and Nathan.

WARNING: This post contains spoilers for Insecure Season 4, including the June 7 episode.

Issa’s relationship with Nathan

As fans remember, Issa met Nathan in season 3. She picked him up in a Lyft one night and bonded with him when she took the Texas native on a tour of Los Angeles’ black neighborhoods. They shared a natural, uber-cute chemistry and seemed to be headed towards a relationship. But Nathan suddenly stopped returning her texts and calls.

He later reemerged and made it up to Issa by inviting her and her friends to Coachella, where they talked about their feelings for each other before having sex on a Ferris wheel. While it seemed like a turning point in their relationship, Nathan went on to flake on Issa multiple times before ditching her completely.

Explaining his absence in season 4, Nathan told Issa that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was struggling to accept it. He added that he is now focused on the important things in his life — one being Issa. She accepted his apology and agreed that he also means a lot to her. Over the next few hours, they caught up, sang together, and did all the other things that made fans ship them in season 3.

Issa’s relationship with Lawrence

Issa’s relationship with Lawrence has been tense ever since she cheated on him with Daniel in season 1. Lawrence vowed early in season 3 that he would never get back with Issa, but the chemistry between them at Tiffany’s baby shower convinced fans otherwise.

He only realized in a season 4 conversation with his girlfriend Condola that he still had feelings for Issa, who had simultaneously been feeling a little salty over how much Lawrence’s life had changed since they dated. Once unemployed and immature, Lawrence now has a great-paying job and a strong emotional capacity.

Although they are now both at new points in life, it was clear when they met up for food and drinks later in the season that they are the same old Issa and Lawrence. He got all of her quirky jokes and she remembered all of his tastes. They decided to move on their emotions and started hooking up, but the prospect of a job opportunity in San Francisco threatens their future.

Fans weigh in on who they like better for Issa

As the season finale grows closer, viewers have been taking to social media platforms to share who they think Issa should end up with. And judging from the reactions, people are totally split.

One fan tweeted they hope Nathan doesn’t “f*ck up” what Lawrence and Issa have. “No shade to Nathan cause he still cute,” they continued, while others said Issa shouldn’t get her hopes up due to Lawrence’s job opportunity.

But even if Lawrence does move away, people think she should still avoid taking Nathan seriously.

“Issa would be foolish if she went back to Nathan. She and Lawrence have an undeniable connection and they’re both in better places than before. Issa can’t throw it away for a man that she barely knew that ghosted her,” read one tweet.

Then there are others who just can’t pick a side.

“I gotta admit Issa and Lawrence’s awkwardness is cute, but so is Nathan and Issa’s! Nathan didn’t miss a beat, singing with her,” read one tweet.

Another fan said: “I want Issa to have both Lawrence and Nathan.”

Echoing that, someone else asked: “Can she pull a Dro and have both???”
