Issa Dee and Condola Hayes cross paths again

The episode began the way the premiere started, with Issa Dee (Issa Rae) on the phone speaking to someone and claiming she doesn’t “f**k” with best friend Molly Carter (Yvonne Orji) anymore.

It turns out that she was talking to ex-fling Nathan Campbell (Kendrick Sampson) as she couldn’t sleep the night before her block party. Only hours before the huge event, Molly contemplated not attending because Issa blew off her celebration dinner, but she chose to support her friend anyways.

Soon after the block party began, Issa ran into her co-planner Condola Hayes (Christina Elmore), who recently ghosted her. Condola congratulated her for accomplishing the party but admitted she almost didn’t come because she and Lawrence Walker (Jay Ellis) broke up.

Issa Dee and Molly Carter nearly came to blows

The two parted ways, and Issa eventually came across Molly. They gave each other an awkward half-hearted hug and only spoke for a few seconds before Issa had to tend to something else.

Later, Andrew (Alexander Hodge) explained to Molly that Issa might have been ignoring her due to the intense block party planning, and the lawyer sympathized as she recently blew off her boyfriend to focus on work.

Therefore, Molly brought her friend a plate of wings because she correctly assumed that Issa hadn’t eaten yet. Before she could take a bite or say much to Molly, her intern whisked her away as headlining act Vince Staples arrived.

The two later shared a cute moment while doing the Wobble dance together before Molly found out that Issa had Nathan ask her boyfriend to hook her up with the Live Nation artist after Molly previously refused.

The lawyer immediately confronted her friend, who confessed her actions. It bothered Molly that Issa went behind her back, but the event planner didn’t understand why her best friend would want her block party to fail. However, the lawyer felt like Issa acted selfishly and overstepped the boundaries.

The two got into a full-fledged argument that almost turned physical until a party go-er screamed that someone had a gun, causing everyone to scatter.
