Issa Dee and Molly Carter got into a huge fight

Best friends Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji) have been at each other’s necks almost the entire season and nearly came to blows in Lowkey Movin’ On. After Issa’s headline act pulled out, she asked Molly to connect her with an artist her boyfriend worked with, Vince Staples.

However, the lawyer refused because she didn’t want to risk anything with her new relationship by getting business involved. Once Molly found out that the culture curator went behind her back and asked Andrew’s (Alexander Hodge) roommate and Issa’s ex-fling, to connect them anyways, she blew up at her friend at the block party.

While Molly was furious at Issa for overstepping her boundaries, the event planner couldn’t understand why her long-standing friend would want her to fail.

A party-goer yelling that someone had a gun separated the two before a thunderstorm caused everyone else to scatter.

Issa Dee and Molly Carter not on speaking terms

The morning after the explosive fallout, Issa decided she would wait for Molly to reach out first as she feels she’s always the one to initiate communication following a fight.

To get her mind off the situation, Issa demonstrated a few acts of kindness. Although her attempt to buy a pregnant woman’s groceries didn’t work out, she gave a maddening stranger a ride to his estranged son’s house.

She then went to a Paint and Sip and sat with a soon-to-be wife and her bridesmaids. The group invited her to dinner only to ditch her and “dine and dash,” as planned on their bachelorette checklist.

Feeling alone and unsure of her next moves after the block party, she reached out to her mother (Wendy Raquel Robinson), who gave her advice and a much-needed hug. After Issa left, she talked to her friend Kelli (Natasha Rothwell) who advised her to reach out to Molly and talk everything out.

However, she thought she saw Molly at a restaurant later that night and decided to leave and go somewhere else instead of talking to her friend.
