Carano’s firing from The Mandalorian started a ripple effect that has since influeced her path as an actor. Although certain co-workers and fans have sided with the former action star, others found her social media messages too offensive to forgive. However, Carano claimed that she knew she would eventually be canceled for standing up for her beliefs.

“I would have been canceled anyways, 10 times from when I was canceled, so I’m actually happy it happened because my heart is free. I’m not hiding. I’m honest, I’m out here. And I’m a very flawed human being. I don’t have everything figured out. But I know one thing is I’m attracting people that I absolutely like— I’m finding a tribe,” she once told the Post Millenial.

For Carano, being canceled came with a certain amount of loss. But through that loss, she felt it might have been worth it for the sake of her self-respect.

“For me, it was losing everything. And I just knew I couldn’t get on my knees for that propaganda that I saw so clearly. I got stripped of everything, and I feel like that was the best thing that could have happened to me because then things really do get real,” she added. “After you’re canceled, you’re looking at yourself, and your family is looking at you like ‘what the hell?’ And you’re like, ‘I don’t know, but like I feel like I have respect for myself.’”

Before her firing from The Mandalorian, Carano was in talks of getting a Star Wars spinoff for her character Cara Dune. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Haywire actor was allegedly making $25,000-$50,000 per Mandalorian episode.

Seeing as she starred in seven of the series’ eight episodes, this might have seen Carano earning six figures for her appearance. Her spinoff would’ve seen a sizable bump in her salary, which might have had a positive impact on her net worth.

But according to Celebrity Net Worth, Carano isn’t exactly hurting for money. The publication reports that the former MMA fighter still has a net worth of $4 million.

The controversial actor led a successful MMA career where she went undefeated for quite some time. Fighter Cris Cyborg would hand Carano a loss, but what she gained out of it was an acting career. Director Steven Soderbergh would contact Carano after seeing her match with Cyborg. It was an offer that Carano later accepted, but not before she took some time off after her defeat.

“I got the offer for this movie a week after I lost my first MMA fight, and then two months or three months later we had a script and then four months later I was in training for the movie and then we had two months of filming it,” she once told Slate. “Afterwards I spent a little bit of time by myself and re-evaluated where my life was at and got to spend some time with my family and I traveled to Thailand. I had the freedom to go explore the world.”
