Kate Hudson has been in the entertainment business for years following in her mom Goldie Hawn‘s footsteps as an actor. She has starred in several romantic comedies including You, Me and Dupree; Fool’s Gold; My Best Friend’s Girl; How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days; and Raising Helen. Hudson has won various awards for her acting and has even been nominated for an Oscar. She’s also a businesswoman who co-founded the popular athleisure line Fabletics in 2013, and launched her own brand of vodka as well.

Today, Hudson lives in a beautiful Pacific Palisades mansion. But what some people don’t know is that the house she owns now is also her childhood home. Here’s a look inside Hudson’s residence.

The mansion Hudson owns today is actually her childhood home

The place Hudson calls home today is the same house she grew up in.

Hudson’s mother and her longtime partner, Kurt Russell, purchased the mansion in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhhood in the 1970s. However, they eventually sold the property but Hudson decided to buy it back in the mid-2000s for $5.5 million. A few years after that, she bought the abode directly next door for $5.3 million to make a massive compound for her family.

Hudson, her two sons, as well as Danny Fujikawa and their daughter, live in the main house on the estate. It has seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, and outside boasts a pool and spa, and lush gardens. The star has taken some inspiration from her mother with retro furnishings and vintage furniture throughout.

The 7,000-square-foot guesthouse the actor purchased next door is a Tudor Revival-style home with five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. It features vaulted ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and multiple fireplaces. Other amenities include a home gym, a sauna, a playhouse, and another pool and spa.

Hudson and Hawn have always been so close and as Page Six noted, the mother-daughter duo recently worked on a modeling campaign together for Stuart Weitzman.

“My mom has always been an inspiration to me and, in so many ways, the foundation for my values,” Hudson said in a press release. “There’s no doubt that I inherited her love for life and all of its experiences big and small.”

The Almost Famous star revealed that her mom absolutely loves the fashion brand, which is something Hawn confirmed adding: “I actually have a separate area in my closet just for my Stuart Weitzman shoes, so you know I was excited to be a part of the campaign. But more than that, spending the day with my daughter and watching her shine always brings me unimaginable joy.”
