While watching Inventing Anna on Netflix, you’re not alone if you want to know who all the real-life people in Anna Delvey’s fake-socialite life are, including Talia Mallay. Although Marika Domińczyk only appears in one episode as Mallay, it’s memorable about a gorgeous yacht in Ibiza. Find out more about the real-life person from Anna Delvey’s (Julia Garner) life that probably inspired Talia Mallay’s character.

Who is Talia Mallay in ‘Inventing Anna’?

In Inventing Anna Episode 2, Delvey meets Talia Mallay at an art gallery. She’s impressed by the German heiress’ arrogance and delivery. Mallay relays her thoughts about Anna to journalist Vivian Kent. Anna Chlumsky portrays the reporter who sees the potential for a powerful story about the fake heiress who fooled the socialite of New York. Vivian Kent is modeled after the real-life Jessica Pressler, who wrote the New York Magazine article, “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People.”

Mallay tells Kent about the time Anna and her boyfriend, Chase Sikorski (Saamer Usmani), overstayed their welcome on a private yacht in Ibiza. (Ibiza is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea off the eastern coast of Spain, well known for its wild nightlife). Everyone got off the boat; however, Anna and Chase somehow got back on and stayed an extra week. Talia was appalled at the thought that the couple stayed without paying. She never spoke to Anna Delvey again.

Talia Mallay is likely the real-life Jayma Cardoso from Anna Delvey’s life

Showbiz Cheat Sheet took a deep dive into Anna Delvey’s Instagram account and found a photo of a woman (probably Anna) on a yacht in Ibiza on Sept. 1, 2014. Delvey tagged two people in the caption — Hunter Lee Soik and Jayma Cardoso. Many people believe that Hunter Lee Soik is the real-life Chase Sikorski that the Inventing Anna creators modeled Anna’s boyfriend after.

Jayma Cardosa shared a photo of Ibiza on Sept 2, 2014. Anna Delvey liked the post and several others from a week full of Ibiza boating photos.

“Latergram..Ibiza from Uptop,” Cardosa wrote in the Instagram caption of the island. “What an amazing trip!!!! I feel refreshed n revived.”

Talia Mallay is probably the real-life Jayma Cardosa. According to Cardosa’s Instagram account, she is the owner and creator of the Surf Lodge and the Snow Lodge Aspen. The Surf Lodge is a luxury hotel and restaurant located in Montauk, New York. It’s a popular hotel in (you guessed it) the Hamptons, where Talia lives in Inventing Anna. Although Netflix and the Shondaland creators do not indicate that Talia is based on a real-life person, there are several ways that Talia Mallay lines up with Jayma Cardoso.

Here’s why Marika Domińczyk looks familiar in ‘Inventing Anna’

Viewers might recognize Marika Domińczyk from her role as Dr. Eliza Minnick on Grey’s Anatomy Season 13. According to IMDb, she is also well-known for her role as Bernadette in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and The Help TV series.

All nine one-hour-long episodes of Inventing Anna are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
