Hollywood icon Al Pacino makes a killing in every blockbuster film he’s in. But, the star keeps his private life to himself whenever possible. Despite relationships with a few of Hollywood’s elite, The Irishman star has a long relationship timeline. Has the star ever been married and does he have any children?
Al Pacino’s relationship timeline at a glance
Pacino has been working in the entertainment industry since 1968. That bit role parlayed into more until eventually, The Godfather saga hit. The actor’s relationships were mostly with those also in the industry.
From 1967-1975, Pacino and Jill Clayburgh were an item.
Al Pacino was in a relationship with Jill Clayburgh from 1967 – 1975. During this time, when The Godfather films were made, he and Diane Keaton began their on-again-off-again relationship that continued for decades.
The star has been linked to numerous others such as Lyndall Hobbs, Veruschka von Lehndorff, Tuesday Weld, Carmen G. Cervera, Marthe Keller, Kathleen Quinlan, Lucila Solá, and Penelope Ann Miller. He never married any of these women.
However, others the star dated later — Jan Tarrant, Beverly D’Angelo, and Meital Dohan — are likely three of the more prominent.
Is Pacino married now?
Pacino never married any of the women he dated, but The Godfather co-star Keaton famously gave him a marriage ultimatum. The two met on the set of The Godfather in 1972 when both were mostly unknown.
In a 2013 interview with The Telegraph, Keaton said, “I was really very taken with Al from the very beginning.”
Four years later, Keaton carried on that sentiment adding she “had a crush” on Pacino during their Godfather days.
“I was mad for him. Charming, hilarious, a nonstop talker,” she told People. “There was an aspect of him that was like a lost orphan, like this kind of crazy idiot savant. And oh, gorgeous!”
But, Pacino wouldn’t commit to marriage so Keaton admitted to giving an ultimatum.
“I worked hard on that one. I went about it in not a perfect way,” she said. Their relationship ended.
Pacino’s most recent relationship with Meital Dohan just ended as well. The two began dating in 2018 but their age gap was significant enough it may have caused a few issues, according to Dohan. He is 79, she is 43.
“It’s hard to be with a man so old, even Al Pacino,” she said, adding, “The age gap is difficult, yes. I tried to deny it, but now he is already an elderly man, to be honest. So even with all my love, it didn’t last.”
Does Pacino have any children?
The actor shares one child with his acting coach, Jan Tarrant, as well as twins he shares with Beverly D’Angelo. That aside, Pacino doesn’t seem to have marriage in the plans now, or maybe ever.
In the grand scheme, does it matter? Pacino is one of Hollywood’s most coveted stars, he’s earned dozens of accolades and millions of dollars while doing something he loves. In the end, he’s living the dream.
