Is Brie Larson Married?
Actress Brie Larson has been working in Hollywood since a very young age, having been in films such as Hoot, 21 Jump Street, Short Term 12, and Room. These days, she is in the spotlight for her role in the upcoming film Captain Marvel, which will be the first Marvel movie featuring a female superhero as the lead character.
With an impressive career resume as well as a record-breaking role, no doubt many fans have become curious about the 29-year-old’s life outside of her acting work. Is she married? Who might she currently be in a relationship with?

Brie Larson is not married
The Oscar-winning actress is currently not married. However, since she often keeps her personal life out of the public’s eye, it is also not known for sure whether she is single or in a relationship.
In January of 2019, it was reported that Larson and fiancé Alex Greenwald, leadsinger of the band Phantom Planet (most known for the singing the opening theme song for hit TV show The O.C. in the early 2000’s), had decided to end their engagement, although whether they are actually broken up or not is a question that remains to be answered. According to a source, “they have taken a step back from their engagement for the time being but they remain close.”
Her long relationship with Greenwald
The pair started dating in 2013. Larson and Greenwald’s relationship was on-and-off for a while before it was revealed that Greenwald finally popped the question in March 2016. A ring was seen on Brie Larson when she hosted on Saturday Night Live a couple of months after, which confirmed their engagement. A year later, in a story by Vanity Fair, it was also reported that they were living together in Hollywood Hills.
Throughout their long relationship, Larson had given a few shout-outs to her beau during her acceptance speeches. In fact, it was her acceptance speech at the 2013 IFP Gotham Award that revealed her relationship with Greenwald. “And I’d like to thank my boyfriend, Alex Greenwald, for making me pasta and taking care of our puppy while I made this movie,” she said.
Brie Larson also once gushed about how Greenwald had been supportive of her taking risks in her career. “I don’t think I could do any of this without my person,” she said. “I can go out in the world and I can take risks and I can push myself to the limit, and then there’s that core that knows me and no matter how far I go, I’m still the same when I come back. That’s a really valuable thing.”
The couple was last seen publicly together in April of 2018 during the Los Angeles premiere of Avengers: Infinity War. Neither of them have posted about each other on social media since late 2018.
What the future holds for Brie Larson
Whether Brie Larson is in a relationship or not, it is clear that there are many things in her thriving career for her to focus on. Currently, Larson is working on promoting her film Captain Marvel, which is set to be released on March 8, 2019.
Soon after, we will also see her as Captain Marvel once again on the big screen when Avengers: End Game is released on April 26, 2019. It has been speculated that Larson will appear in more Marvel films in the future.
Outside of the Marvel universe, Larson will appear in the biopic film Just Mercy alongside Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx, set to be released in January of 2020.
