For a while, it seemed like Lindsay Lohan would break out of the curse of the child star. She was incredibly talented, but eventually it seems like her partying caught up with her.

Just like other child stars, Lohan imploded at one of the most promising times in her career.

Lindsay Lohan is trying to get her career back on track

Lohan starred in Mean Girls in 2004, and it was arguably one of her biggest roles. She’d starred in movies before, but Mean Girls is special because it has withstood the test of time. Even now, almost 16 years later, audiences connect with the film.

It should have been the beginning for Lohan. But instead of going on to star in more movies, Mean Girls became the beginning of the end. Lohan would party hard in the next years, and she was caught using cocaine. Maybe her career could have survived the drug use, but her erratic behavior made her hard to work with.

In 2008, Lohan was supposed to appear in a six episode arc on Ugly Betty. However, Lohan was so rude and confrontational with the show’s star, America Ferrera, that they cut it short. Lohan only appeared in one episode.

Now she’s trying to get back on the horse. She’s announced that she’s coming back to the US after a long stint of living abroad, and she’ll be acting on several projects. Lohan claims she’s done with drama.

Lindsay Lohan has a complicated relationship history

There’s certainly a lot of drama in Lohan’s relationship history. The first relationship of Lohan’s that was reported by the tabloids was with Aaron Carter. Carter was a fellow child star. If what happened to Lohan is bad, Carter’s downward spiral is downright tragic. His untreated mental health issues have led his brother to get a restraining order against him.

The two went out for a short time before Lohan was linked to Wilmer Valderama of That 70s Show fame. That was another short relationship. The next year, in 2006, Lohan was linked to Stavros Niarchos.

The shipping heir was fresh off of a relationship with Lohan’s friend, Paris Hilton. Some speculate that Lohan’s relationship with Niarchos creates a rift in her friendship with Hilton. If it did, it wasn’t worth it. Lohan and Niarchos were over that same year, and Lohan was seen wining and dining with a famous restaurateur.

Then in 2008, Lohan dated British DJ Samantha Ronson. Lohan has no problem discussing her bisexuality, but she says the relationship ended up generating a lot of criticism for Ronson.

Lohan and Ronson broke things off for good in 2009. Lohan had a few more short flings until she got together with Egor Tarabasov. She and the Russian businessman would eventually become engaged.

After two years, Lindsay Lohan broke off her engagement

Lohan and Tarabasov had a tumultuous relationship, to say the least. Tarabasov was very abusive. The two were often caught physically fighting. At one point, Tarabasov tried to strangle Lohan in a London hotel room.

Lohan’s abusive relationship is even more tragic given her family history. Her mother has spoken out about being in an abusive relationship as well. Even though her mother often advocates for victims of domestic abuse, Lohan didn’t realize right away that she was a victim herself.

In 2016, Tarabasov was filmed twisting Lohan’s arm on a beach in Mykonos. This seemed to be a kind of last straw for Lohan, who broke off the engagement shortly after. As far as fans know, Lohan has been single ever since.

Fans just want the best for Lohan. She claims 2020 will be her year. She’s declared this will be the year she comes back to her own. Fans are excited to see Lohan succeed, both in her career and love life.Â
