Is Meghan Markle Expecting Baby No 2? The Duchess of Sussex Granted 9 Month Trial Delay For ‘Confidential’ Reasons
The pregnancy rumors are swirling around Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. Some interesting language in Meghan and Prince Harry’s lawsuit against paparazzi agency X17 seemingly dropped the first hint. Then in early October, pictures emerged that fueled speculation Meghan was expecting. Now, a judge in the UK’s high court has granted Meghan a nine-month trial delay in her case against Associated Newspapers for “confidential” reasons. Are Harry and Meghan ready to announce that another baby is on the way?
The pregnancy speculation started with a paparazzi lawsuit and pictures from a double date
Earlier this month, cameras spotted Harry and Meghan on a double date with actress Katherine McPhee and her husband, David Foster, at Lucky’s Steakhouse in Montecito, California. According to Cosmopolitan, Meghan wore a loose-fitting top and draped a trench coat over her shoulders. This led to many fans suggesting that the duchess had “strategically placed” her coat to cover a baby bump.
The photos came after Sky News noticed some interesting language in Meghan and Harry’s lawsuit against paparazzi agency X17. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex filed the lawsuit after drones took photos of their 18-month-old son, Archie Harrison, in their garden and touted them for sale.
In their lawsuit, the couple detailed the extremes that the paparazzi went to get pictures of them and their son in California. They claim that drones flew 20 feet above their home sometimes as early as 5:30 am. Meghan and Harry also claim that photographers cut holes in their security fence.
Meghan and Harry state in their lawsuit that they will do whatever is “necessary to protect their children from this manufactured feeding frenzy.” Many royal watchers immediately noticed they used the word “children” not “child.”
Royal oddsmakers believe Meghan Markle will announce a pregnancy before the end of 2020
According to Express, royal oddsmakers have noticed the mounting speculation. UK betting house Coral has put the odds at 4:5 that Meghan will announce she’s pregnant soon.
“It seems certain that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will add to their family and we make it odds on they announce before the end of the year that they are expecting.” Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said.
Harry has spoken in the past about having another child. However, he made it clear he wanted to stop at two due to environmental concerns. He told British Vogue that he’s always thought of the Earth as “borrowed.” He added that as intelligent and evolved as humans are, they should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.
Harry’s plan for “two, maximum” accommodates another pregnancy. And the latest ruling from Meghan’s UK lawsuit against Associated Newspapers has many people believing the announcement of baby number two is coming any day now.
The UK high court delayed Meghan Markle’s lawsuit nine months due to ‘confidential’ reasons
Meghan is also in a lawsuit against Associated Newspapers in the UK after the Mail on Sunday published a private letter between Meghan and her estranged father, Thomas Markle. Meghan was scheduled to start her trial in January. But according to Express, Judge Justice Warby has granted Meghan a nine-month delay due to “confidential” reasons.”
Judge Warby vacated the original trial date of January 11 and postponed it until autumn 2021. In his ruling, Warby noted there was a private hearing about Meghan’s application to postpone to protect “the confidentiality of the information relied on.”
The High Court judge also noted that the “primary basis” for his decision to grant Meghan’s request was “a confidential ground.” The judge also said he would not make a decision on Meghan’s application for summary judgment. That legal maneuver would see the case resolved without a trial.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is suing Associated Newspapers for misuse of private information, copyright infringement, and breach of the Data Protection Act. She is seeking damages.
