The rapper had a stellar 2019

DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, had one of the best years for not just a new artist, but an artist overall. He released two albums in 2020, the gold-certified Baby on Baby, and the Billboard chart-topping set, Kirk. His single, “Suge” reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the singles “Intro” and “Bop” reached No. 13 and No. 11 respectively.

He collaborated on songs with artists like Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Chance the Rapper, Lil Baby and more. He also went on a worldwide tour and recently performed on Saturday Night Live.

Why do people think DaBaby is married and what he says

In early September, rumors began to circulate on social media that DaBaby was married to the mother of his children. It seems that the rumors started from an old yearbook photo that was posted on Twitter. The blurb beside his high school senior portrait stated that his wife was Ashley Kirk.

The rapper later commented on Instagram that the quote as a part of a joke with someone on the school’s yearbook staff.

The actual mother of DaBaby’s daughter, Meme, is not in a relationship with the rapper. They met about five years ago through a mutual friend and began taking things serious one she got pregnant. They have one child together, a 2-year-old daughter, as well as Meme’s 6-year-old son who considers DaBaby to be a father figure.

“He [DaBaby] is actually an amazing father. Not only to our daughter but to my son as well. He has been in his life for a very long time. He’s an amazing father, I can give him that,” she said in an interview with Kiss Talk. She also reiterated that while they have love for each other, they are not a couple, saying, “We single, but that’s my boo though, regardless.”

The Shade Room reported a story that Meme was pregnant with her third child by DaBaby, but the rapper shot down the rumors on Instagram.
