After the Justice League movie with the Flash (Ezra Miller), Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) failed to live up to expectations, Warner Bros. decided to go in a very different direction than what Zack Snyder envisioned. However, many of his fans were heartbroken over this. And with Ezra Miller starring as The Flash again in a solo film, fans wonder if it will be the last scrap of the Snyderverse they see.

Will ‘The Flash’ starring Ezra Miller erase the Snyderverse?

While the DCEU proved divisive, Zack Snyder fans loved the darker tone. After heavy editing from Joss Whedon, fans started hounding Warner Bros. with pleas to “release the Snyder cut.”

They finally got their wish when the four-hour Zack Snyder Justice League. However, WB would not restore Snyder’s vision for the DCEU. This brought some questions for fans of the Flash, DC Comics, and the DCEU.

It led to speculation that while The Flash cast Ezra Miller to return, it would reboot, reset, or completely erase the Snyderverse movies like Man of Steel and Justice League.

In addition to reports of Ezra Miller arrested again, the future of the scarlet speedster seems uncertain at best. However, the exact status of The Flash and the Snyderverse seems to be that the Ezra Miller hero will create a branched timeline from the Zack Snyder Justice League.

Ezra Miller said ‘The Flash’ will create a new timeline from the Snyderverse

According to a Reddit post, a fan contacted Ezra Miller, and they respond.

“No power or force in any known megaverse would or could ever erase Zack Snyder’s mighty wrkz,” Miller said (via ComingSoon). “You can take that quote. Take that to the bank, to the press, to the schools, to the military, and the other pillar of capitalism I’m forgetting cause of that thing where if you try to think of a group of things you always forget one of them.”

DC Comics has seen several reboots over the years, from Crisis on Infinite Earth (a storyline that Grant Gustin tackled on The Flash TV show on the CW), Infinite Crisis, and Flashpoint.

The Flashpoint storyline will be the focus of the Ezra Miller Flash movie. It follows Barry Allen as he travels back in time to save his mother from the Reverse Flash. The actions of the Flash cause ripple effects that change the timeline and branch out from the Snyderverse.

Warner Bros. could always revisit the Zack Snyder version of the heroes

The important distinction for fans worried about The Flash erasing the Snyderverse is that it will create a new timeline, not destroy the old.

While DC Comics have tried to streamline continuity, characters and Earths long-forgotten have a habit of reappearing later.

Warner Bros. might shelve the Snyderverse for now. However, in a world where Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield can team up with Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Michael Keaton can come back as Batman for The Flash, anything can happen.

Fans just need to see what comes next for the DCEU.
