The Buffy the Vampire Slayer fandom lives on despite the Joss Whedon series having ended more than 15 years ago. New generations keep discovering the popular TV show of the late ‘90s and early 2000s.

Among them are Jaden Smith and Willow Smith, the children of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Not yet born when Sarah Michelle Gellar made her debut in 1997 as the evil-fighting teen Buffy Summers, Jaden and Willow are big Buffy fans.

Willow Smith considers herself a lifelong ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ fan

If there’s ever a Buffy reboot, chances are 19-year-old Willow and Jaden will want to be in it. If not, they’ll at the very least tune in like every other fan of the series to catch up with their favorite Buffy characters.

Sitting down for a conversation with Pharrell Williams for Interview magazine Willow and Jaden confessed their love of the series. Asked whether or they follow any TV shows the sister and brother were quick to mention Buffy

Buffy the Vampire Slayer forever! I will forever be following that TV show until the day that I die. I love Buffy,” Willow said.

Jaden immediately agreed, chiming in with, “Yes! Buffy the Vampire Slayer!”

Jaden Smith’s made a nod to ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ in a song

Song lyrics can say a lot about an artist. In Jaden’s case, the lyrics to his song, “Beast Mode,” shows just how much he enjoys Buffy. He made a nod to the series in the song with the line, “At night I’m watching Buffy, end of day I take my stake to school.”

Not only has Jaden mentioned Buffy in his music but he’s also been spotted wearing a Buffy t-shirt. If that’s not enough, according to Paper magazine he called Beats 1 the day Apple Music launched to request they play the Buffy theme song.

Spike from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ is a style icon of Jaden Smith’s

Jaden is making a name for himself in the fashion industry apart from being the child of a celebrity, an actor, and a musician. One of his sources of inspiration is Buffy. As Jaden told Variety in 2016, Spike (James Marsters) is one of his style icons in addition to Andy Warhol, the Joker, and Poseidon.

He made headlines in 2017 when he showed up to the Met Gala carrying his own hair as an accessory. He also famously attended the wedding of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West dressed as Batman.

Fashion aside, maybe someday Jaden and Willow will share their feelings on the worst season of Buffy or say whether or not they’re Team Spike or Team Angel.
