Happy announcement

Dewan and Kazee shared their news in September on their upcoming arrival. “We are beyond overjoyed and couldn’t be happier to be expanding our family!” the couple told People.

The two started dating in 2018 following Dewan’s split from ex-husband Channing Tatum, with whom she shares daughter Everly. Kazee is known to publicly share his affection for the Flirty Dancing star, often posting his admiration for his fiancé.

“Disclaimer: I’m aware this is basically an @jennadewan fan account now. There is a reason for that,” Kazee wrote on Instagram in December. “That reason is that I constantly watch with absolute awe as she has carves her path through this world and all the while she does it with a level of grace that we should all aspire to.”

The two announced their engagement in February.

Dewan’s differing pregnancies

The actress has previously shared that her pregnancy with her son was different from the first time around when she was expecting Everly. “It’s been amazing. First pregnancy was really easy. Evie was like a dream pregnancy,” Dewan said in January, according to Entertainment Tonight. “This time around, [it’s] also really great, but everything’s happening faster. I’m swelling faster, I have heartburn faster, I was way more nauseous this time around, so it’s a little different.”

While she stuck with healthy foods during her first pregnancy, Dewan revealed that she was going with more indulgent options with her second.

“With Evie I was super-healthy,” Dewan said. “I would actually find I wanted grapefruit which was, like, ‘Thank you, Evie.’ Not this time. This time, I want junk food. I want everything bad. It was immediate. I was like, ‘Where’s the chips? Where’s the Taco Bell?’ I needed junk food.”

Dewan also shared that her daughter was getting ready to take on the role of big sister. “She just said to me this morning, ‘I’m preparing myself for that baby to cry all the time,’” Dewan said in Janaury, according to People. “It was so adult and she asked me if the baby cried in the night if she could get out of her bed and go sing the baby song. And I was like, that is so sweet.”

Naming baby boy

On March 6, the couple welcomed their son into the world, posting the announcement on Instagram a few days later along with his name.

“And just like that, our hearts exploded into all of eternity and beyond ❤️🌈❤️ Welcome to the world you little angel! ❤️ Callum Michael Rebel Kazee 3/6/20” Dewan captioned the pic of her holding her newborn.

Kazee took to Instagram to share his joy and the details behind their son’s name. “We’ve had lots of questions about the name we choose [sic] for the little peanut so figured I would share a few things…” Kazee began, as reported by E! News. Explaining that ‘Callum’ is “Gaelic for dove,” Kazee gave the reason for the unique moniker. “He has been so sweet and peaceful since landing in our arms,” he wrote.

The middle name of ‘Michael’ is also Kazee’s middle name, which he wanted to share with his son. As for ‘Rebel,’ the Tony Award-winner chose to pay homage to his mom. “I wanted a way to honor my mother,” Kazee wrote. “Her name was Reba but from a very young age her father called her Rebel.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
