Actor Jennifer Lawrence married her husband, Cooke Maroney, more than a year ago. She hasn’t spent much time in the spotlight since then. But with her latest film, Don’t Look Up, headed to Netflix in 2021, here’s a look back at her love life before she tied the knot.

Lawrence started dating Maroney in 2018, according to most media reports. After less than a year of dating, the art gallery director proposed with numerous sources confirming their engagement in February 2019. Lawrence and Maroney officially tied the knot in October 2019.

Ahead of her wedding, Lawrence went on NAKED with Catt Sadler. She told the podcast host Maroney was “the greatest human being I’ve ever met.” “I just met Cooke, and I wanted to marry him,” Lawrence continued. “We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully.”

Before Maroney, Lawrence primarily dated others in the entertainment industry. She was first linked to her X-Men: First Class co-star Nicholas Hoult in 2010, before the film debuted. They dated on-and-off for the next few years, breaking up around the time its sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, finished filming.

“I was also in a relationship with somebody for five years, and that was my life,” she told Diane Sawyer in 2015 of Hoult and working on The Hunger Games and X-Men franchises. Fortunately, they were able to remain friends and worked together on X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.

Lawrence was briefly linked to Coldplay musician Chris Martin after splitting from Hoult. But her next relationship with an older man brought even more tabloid headlines. After filming the movie Mother!, she started dating the film’s director, Darren Aronofsky.

“We had energy,” Lawrence told Vogue in 2017. “I had energy for him.” She also explained what made their relationship unique. “I’ve been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I’m never confused with him,” she said. Lawrence and Aronofsky broke up after about a year of dating.

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live in 2015, Andy Cohen asked the actor about rumors that she and Hemsworth had spent time together as more than friends. “Liam and I grew up together,” Lawrence responded. “Liam’s real hot,” she laughed.
