If there is one A-list celebrity relationship that seems solid and authentic, it’s Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s union. The entertainer and the retired baseball legend have run in similar circles for years. However, they did not connect romantically until 2017. Since then, they’ve allowed the world to watch their enchanting love story.

Both Lopez and Rodriguez have been married in the past. The “Jenny From the Block” singer, in particular, has been in super high-profile relationships that simply did not work out. However, the duo did not let their past dictate their future.

From their constant support of one another at events and on red carpets, to their public declarations of love — Lopez and Rodriguez have met their match in each other.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez had an awkward first date

Lopez and Rodriguez had crossed paths several times in the past. In the ’90s when the songstress was already a full-fledged megastar, and Rodriguez was just rookie, J.Lo signed an autograph for him.

Years later in 2005, the duo crossed paths again when Lopez and her then-husband, Marc Anthony, attended a Yankees game together. However, their meet-cute didn’t happen until 2017.

“He was sitting there in his white shirt, very confident and manly, but then he was just so talkative!” Lopez told Vanity Fair. “I think he thought I was going to be this loud person, but I’m not. I just listen. So he’s talking, talking about his plans, about how he had just retired from baseball, about how he saw himself getting married again, all these things you wouldn’t normally talk about on a first date. I don’t know if he thought it was a date. I thought it was a date. Then I knew he was nervous because he asked me if I wanted a drink. I said, “No, I don’t drink,” and he asked if I minded if he had one. He was nervous, and it was really cute.”

Alex Rodriguez is Jennifer Lopez’s biggest supporter

From her whirlwind, It’s My Party tour, her 50th birthday celebration this past July, and all of the various red carpets for her acclaimed role in Hustlers, Rodriguez has been by Lopez’s side.

When she didn’t take home a trophy at the 2020 Golden Globes, the businessman still showered Lopez with love and support. He praised his fiancé for her hard work and dedication in both her personal and professional lives. Rodriguez wrote on Instagram,

Jen, it doesn’t take a trophy, medal, or plaque to identify a true champion. To millions of young women who have watched you and have been inspired and empowered to do amazing things in their lives, you are a champion. For countless musicians, dancers, actresses, and performers who have seen and emulate your passion, drive and work ethic to find their own success, you are a champion. To your children, your family, your coaches, your staff, and your extended family, you are a champion. To everyone whose lives you enrich daily, you are a champion. And don’t you ever forget it. ❤️❤️❤️

Jennifer Lopez’s love letter to Alex Rodriguez

Obviously, having someone who love and supports her no matter what means the world to Lopez. She told GQ, “He wants me to be seen and to get what I deserve. Like, he’s made his half a billion. And he’s like, ‘I want you to have that.'” After reading her fiancé’s heartfelt note, she wrote an open love letter to him on Instagram.

She wrote, “I cannot even begin to explain what having you by my side means to me… I love riding thru life with you… my biggest supporter, my rock, my macho ♥️♥️♥️ #alexappreciationpost”
