Jennifer Lopez is good at everything and yes, that includes TikTok.

Frankly, we’d expect nothing less from J. Lo, whose career in the entertainment industry has spanned more than 30 years. The 50-year-old singer, dancer, actress, and producer is on pretty much every social media platform. With the rise of TikTok, she joined the video sharing app and ever since then has been making headlines for her viral content.

Jennifer Lopez’s kids are ‘always encouraging’ her to use TikTok

Unlike some kids who might balk at their parents joining TikTok, J. Lo’s 12-year-old twins, Emme and Max, whom she shares with her her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, like it when their mom gets on TikTok.

Speaking to Elle magazine by phone from her home in Los Angeles, Calif, for an interview published on March 16, 2020, J. Lo said Emme and Max are more than fine when she posts to TikTok. In fact, they encourage her to do it.

“They love it, so they’re always encouraging me to use it,” J. Lo said of her kids. “They love when I do!”

So, we have Emme and Max to thank for all of the gems J. Lo’s posted to her TikTok account.

Her TikTok dance challenge continues to go viral

Following her halftime show performance at the 2020 Super Bowl alongside Shakira on Feb. 2, J. Lo added to her #JLoTikTokChallenge as fans tried their hand at recreating the choreography from her performance, according to Time. She encouraged fans to recreate different sections of her performance featuring some of her most popular songs. Even weeks later, J. Lo continues to add to her TikTok challenge with new moves.

Fans say Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez won ‘flip the switch’ TikTok challenge

J. Lo  and her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, did their own version of the “flip the switch” challenge, a video trend making the rounds on TikTok involving Drake’s 2018 song, “Nonstop,” and unsurprisingly they won it.

The challenge involved two people standing in front of a mirror and when Drake says the line, “I just flipped the switch,” the light goes off and when it comes back on, the people in the video have switched positions and clothes.

J. Lo and A-Rod weren’t the only celebrities to try the challenge but according to fans they won it with their outfit change that involved the former MLB player wearing J. Lo’s clothes. J. Lo posted the video to her TikTok on March 8, 2020, and it now has nearly 59 million views.

She thinks of TikTok ‘as a dance app’

With J. Lo’s background in dancing, it’s easy to see why she’s gotten so much attention on TikTok. Although it’s deemed a social media app, she considers TikTok to be made for dancing.

“But for me, I swear, TikTok isn’t a social media app, it’s a dance app. You click around, you find a new move you want to learn, and you do it,” she told Elle.

“You can do it with your kids, you can do it with your parents or your friends. If you’re stuck at home right now, you can go on TikTok and practice dancing, which is always something that makes your mood better. I’m all about it.”

At the time of the interview, J. Lo had been at home (where she remains) as a result of the Coronavirus. So, hopefully fans can expect more TikTok videos from J. Lo in the future with special appearances from A-Rod, and, of course, Emme and Max.
