“BDS is in the building!” The first week of December is a big one for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino for so many reasons. December 2021 marked 12 years since the original Jersey Shore debuted on MTV. But this year, “Big Daddy Sitch” had additional reasons to celebrate, including his sober-versary and the baptism of his son Romeo Reign.

Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is 6 years sober 

Sorrentino celebrated six years of sobriety on Dec. 1, 2021. “Today we celebrate being a champion,” the reality star wrote on Instagram

“I’m so incredibly proud of you!” his wife Lauren commented. “You’re the most amazing husband, father, & human that I know! I love you forever honey.” 

“What a great accomplishment; you should be so proud of yourself,” a fan replied on Twitter. “When your son grows up and sees the man you have become there is no words, Mike; keep putting in the work and paying it forward. God bless you and your family.”

Mike ‘The Situation’ and Lauren Sorrentino celebrate Romeo Reign’s baptism

Mike and Lauren welcomed their son Romeo Reign in May 2021. The couple recently teased the Romeo’s baptism on the Here’s the Sitch podcast — the celebration took place on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021. 

According to Sorrentino’s Instagram Stories, dinner was held at The Block in New Jersey after Romeo’s baptism. Much of the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation cast was there, including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Zack “24” Carpinello, Deena Cortese, and Chris Buckner. Vinny Guadagnino and his Uncle Nino were also in attendance. 

‘The Situation’ went blonde the first week of December

Like DJ Pauly DelVecchio did during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic lockdown, Sorrentino dyed his hair blonde. He debuted his new look on Instagram on Dec. 3, just two days before Romeo’s baptism. 

“Blondes have more fun,” the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star captioned his Instagram post. Now he, Lauren, and Romeo share the same hair color.

“You look like a grown-up Romeo now,” Lauren commented on the post. “BDS is now Blonde Daddy Sitch,” Sorrentino joked in the comments. “New hair, who dis,” he added in a separate comment. Whether or not the new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation will feature any footage of Sorrentino with blonde hair is unclear. 

When will ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ Season 5 be released? 

“We’re about to wrap up this week to finish it up,” Sorrentino teased of the new JSFV season in the “Let Your Cup Runneth Over” episode of the Here’s the Sitch podcast from Nov. 30, 2021. According to Sorrentino, fans will get to see the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation “Family Christmas Special” at the end of December. The new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation should air shortly after. 

“It’s an estimate guys, don’t take that for a fact,” Sorrentino clarified. According to WikipediaJersey Shore: Family Vacation’s “Family Christmas Special” will air on Dec. 23, 2021.
