Jerzday returns to MTV for the new year with the unveiling of a new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. The cast is ready to take on the Florida Keys for an all-new batch of episodes. This time, their extended families are in tow, including spouses, significant others, and children. However, there is one considerable change to this new season.

This will be the first season that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will be a cast member since Dec. 2019. It will also be the first time Ronnie Ortiz-Magro did not film with his castmates since stepping back from the series in May of this year.

Nicole Polizzi and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro left the series for personal reasons

Polizzi initially left the series after episodes featuring the wedding of Chris Larangeira and Angelina Pivarnick aired. On her podcast, It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey, the reality star revealed that filming the show was no longer fun and that she did not want to be away from her children for long periods.

As for Magro, he announced he was leaving JSFV in May 2021 to focus on his mental health. E! News reported the MTV star penned a statement shared to his Instagram story. He wrote, “After talking to the team at MTV, we have mutually agreed that I will step away from the show while I seek medical treatment for mental health issues that I’ve ignored for too long.”

It is unclear when or if Magro will return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

Since announcing his break from the series, Magro has stayed out of the spotlight. He released an engagement announcement to girlfriend Saffire Matos in June.

However, this August, he spoke to TMZ and told the outlet his days with the MTV juggernaut may not be over.

“I feel great. Four months sober. I quit drinking, got engaged, full-time father, you know, living a good life,” Magro said.

He continued, “I stepped away [from Jersey Shore] to deal with my mental health, be a father to my child, be a fiancé to my woman. I’ll be back and, you know, all the fans love me and I love them too, so I’m going to give them what they want and I’ll see them soon.”

During the newest season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Nicole shared the spotlight with her children who came along for filming in the Florida Keys. Being away from her kids was one of the reasons Polizzi left the series so their inclusion may have been one of the benefits of her return to the show in a full-time capacity.

A release for the new season teased the following information.

“As the world continues to change in unexpected ways, the Jersey Shore family is back together and they’re putting it all on the table,” a release from MTV said.

“From long overdue meatball days to wild nights in LA with Vinny and Mike’s ‘end of probation’ celebration to DJ Pauly D’s return to the clubs, this group continues to bring the non-stop party wherever they go.

“With the arrival of Baby Situation and Deena and Chris’ new little meatball, life events continue to bring the family closer together,” it continued. “And in true ‘Shore’ style, the group heads to the Florida Keys to remind everyone how outrageous a Jersey Shore Family Vacation can get,” the release concluded.
