Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested last week. Once it became clear Jenn Harley wasn’t involved, many assumed Ortiz-Magro’s current girlfriend Saffire Matos is the one who called the police.

Now, many Jersey Shore fans are curious about the state of Ortiz-Magro and Matos’ relationship. Plus, some are wondering if Ortiz-Magro will have a job at the end of all this thanks to the petition for MTV to fire the reality TV star from Jersey Shore

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s arrest for domestic violence charges

The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star was arrested on Apr. 22, 2021 for domestic violence charges. “We have just learned of the new allegations against Ronnie and need some additional time to further investigate,” Ortiz-Magro’s attorney Scott Leemon told TMZ. “As such, we will not be making any other statements at this time.” 

According to the Los Angeles police, Ortiz-Magro’s arrest was reported as “intimate partner violence with injury with priors.” In the past, Ortiz-Magro has been under arrest for domestic violence reportedly involving Harley. 

Ortiz-Magro’s daughter Ariana Sky was with him at the time of his arrest. Harley documented her retrieval of her daughter on social media. 

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and girlfriend Saffire Matos are ‘fine’ 

Since his arrest, many fans are curious about the state of Ortiz-Magro’s relationship with Matos. Now, they have broken their silence regarding the domestic violence charges. 

“I am grateful for all of my real friends!” Ortiz-Magro wrote on his Instagram Stories. He continued:

I take all experiences as lessons. You learn who really cares about you when your down and out and [then] you see who doesn’t [sic]! But I guess they call it the weeding process. Thank you to my real friends who haven’t left my side and haven’t betrayed me!

Matos addressed her followers in a similar way. “Ronnie and I are fine,” she began.

There is a lot of misleading information floating around out there. With anybody who reached out with concern, I appreciate it with all my heart, but everything that’s being portrayed out there are not facts. I don’t think it’s fair that people are using false accusations to gain attention.

Matos asked everyone to leave her and Ortiz-Magro alone and not to believe everything that’s available online. “You don’t know what someone is going through at the end of the day,” she concluded. “I’d appreciate privacy please. Thanks for all your support.”

After Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s arrest, some ‘Jersey Shore’ fans are petitioning to have him fired

Harley’s friend and self-proclaimed travel enthusiast Joe shared information about a petition to have Ortiz-Magro removed from Jersey Shore. “#EndAbuseAgainstWomen” Joe wrote on his Instagram Stories over a shared post from the Eye One Edits account. 

According to the petition page, the MTV star “has abused women for far too long and it’s time to put a stop to this.” The petition is asking the network to fire Ortiz-Magro, detailing the years of abuse his celebrity status has demonstrated. 

A petition to have Ronnie Ortiz-Magro removed from MTV cites his past relationship with Sammi ‘Sweetheart’

The Victim Advocates who started the petition against Ortiz-Magro highlighted his past relationship with Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. “MTV exploited the abuse for the amusement of viewers,” the petition reads.

Additionally, the petition cites Ortiz-Magro’s past with Harley and most recent domestic violence charges. “He should not be profiting any longer from those of us who enjoy watching Jersey Shore but can’t stomach to see his face on our screens any longer,” the petition continues. “We will not watch MTV until they make a [formally] announce that he has been let go from the show.” 

At the time of publication, the petition had 433 signatures out of the 500 signature goal. It’s unclear if MTV knows of this petition.
