‘Jersey Shore’ Fans Call Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino’s Birthday Dinner ‘Trashy’ for Mocking Angelina Pivarnick’s Wedding Speech
Over the weekend, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino celebrated his birthday. Most of the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation crew were in attendance, except for Pauly DelVecchio, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Angelina Pivarnick. After the roommates delivered a birthday toast that mimicked the infamous wedding speech, several fans expressed their distaste for the cast’s actions, calling them “trashy.”
Angelina’s wedding is still a hot topic
Thanks to the season 3 finale of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, the speech Deena Cortese, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Jenni “JWoww” Farley gave at Pivarnick’s wedding is now just as talked about as “the note” written to Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola during the Miami season. After the episode aired, Pivarnick was very outspoken about the hurt and disrespect she felt on her wedding day. Her husband, Chris Larangeira, was also offended by the cast of Jersey Shore‘s actions.
More recently, the drama surrounding Pivarnick’s wedding resurfaced, thanks to the gathering for Sorrentino’s birthday.
Denna, ‘Snooki,’ and ‘JWoww’ joined ‘The Situation’ for a birthday dinner
On Sorrentino’s birthday, Polizzi, Cortese, and Farley attended a dinner at The Butcher’s Block in Long Branch, New Jersey. After their meal, Sorrentino’s roommates made a toast that mimicked the one given at Pivarnick’s wedding.
The speech included the line, “you’re the head to our wall.” When they were done, Sorrentino joked to his wife: “I don’t know honey, should we go outside and flip out?” Sorrentino seemed to be joking, but many Jersey Shore fans didn’t take it that way.
Fans had mixed feelings about the birthday speech
After seeing the birthday toast, most fans found it comical. “I can’t believe everyone is so mad about this!” one user shared on Reddit. “I think this is hilarious — it’s just a harmless joke. Angelina saying that was ridiculous, and making fun of that doesn’t mean it’s mean spirited.”
Others were not entertained. “I don’t like Angelina either, but these petty a*ses have some nerve,” one Jersey Shore fan wrote on Reddit. “Anything to drum up interest for the next season, I guess.” One fan on Reddit called the speech “trashy,” claiming Sorrentino showed his “true colors” by allowing it to happen.
Still, other fans wish people would stop discussing the wedding speech at all. “To be honest, they should have left it alone at this point,” another Reddit user said. “Angelina is not even there, and they are celebrating Mike’s birthday. Leave it alone at this point — it was not funny at the wedding, and it was not funny here.”
Is Angelina still friends with ‘The Situation’?
At this time, it’s unclear how Pivarnick feels about Sorrentino. While she has been very outspoken on social media about her female costars and Vinny Guadagnino, she hasn’t said anything about her feelings toward Sorrentino, DelVecchio, or Ortiz-Magro.
