A fan on Instagram said Gaines’ furniture is beautiful, but she doesn’t think it makes sense to spend a ton of money on the collection. The fan also wondered if people are going broke to purchase items from the Magnolia Home Furniture collection. “Always beautiful stuff, but prices are usually so high I can’t justify a purchase. Someone else seemed to be saving money for a house but got sidetracked by all the shiny new furniture for sale in the Magnolia collection. We hope this person is just joking about blowing through a house budget. “House budget = gone,” wrote one of Joanna’s followers. Another fan joined the conversation, saying she doesn’t have enough money to make ends meet, so she can’t afford to shell out the amount of cash necessary to buy Magnolia furniture. “I know the feeling about not having any money. I am on Social Security and doubt that I could afford that beautiful couch or anything else,” wrote the follower.

Other Instagram followers weighed in, mentioning their financial situations. “How does a teacher with no dollars get one of those GORGEOUS rugs??? Y’all hiring?!” Someone else said Gaines’ furniture is too pricey for “normal” people. “They are so expensive for the normal people. Can you please do a line for the normal working people who just Love your line?”

Not everyone thinks the Magnolia Home Furniture Collection is too expensive

Not everyone thinks Joanna Gaines’ furniture is out of reach. This person said she felt Gaines’ designs are made for “real people” and is happy the line is available. “Thank goodness! A real person designing for real people. Furniture right now is too difficult to shop. It’s either too cheaply made or uber expensive. We want quality but can’t spend $10,000 on a sofa. I cannot wait to visit!!”
