John Mayer, John Stamos, Dave Chappelle, Jim Carrey, and more stars held what was described as a “punk rock shiva” for Bob Saget, who recently died at age 65. Many of the attendees were also present at the Full House actor’s funeral. Here are all the details Stamos shared about the event honoring the comedian.

John Stamos, Chris Rock, Jim Carrey, John Mayer, and more held a ‘punk rock Shiva’ for Bob Saget at the Comedy Store

Bob Saget’s official funeral took place on Jan. 14, but his loved ones continue to honor the former host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. Some of his famous friends got together on Jan. 16 for what comedian Jeff Ross described as an “impromptu punk rock shiva.”

On Jan. 30, more friends and family members gathered at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood for a second tribute to the actor. John Stamos, Saget’s former Full House co-star, posted several photos from the event on Instagram and added a lengthy caption honoring his friend.

“Being respected In the stand-up comedy world was everything to Bob,” Stamos captioned the photos featuring stars like John Mayer, Darren Criss, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Seth Green, and more. “And the outpouring of love and respect that he got Sunday night at the @thecomedystore really proved that he was at the top of his game!”

John Stamos described Bob Saget’s special tribute show on social media

Stamos continued his caption to describe the event and how happy Bob Saget would have been to see the “punk rock Shiva.” “He would’ve been so proud to see the celebration we put together for him,” he wrote.

Stamos named some of the celebrities who performed at the tribute show, and he suggested that a version of it could be released to the public. “@chrisrock Jim Carrey @libner produced. @johnmayer and I cobbled together a jam band. @therealjeffreyross @jacksonbrowne @darrencriss so many family and friends- hopefully you’ll all get to see it someday. Mike Binder working on a special.”

He ended on a somber note, writing that now that the festive tributes were over, it was time to carry on without Saget. “But for now, the tributes and memorials are over,” Stamos said. “And we face, head-f—ing-on the harsh reality of going through life without Bob and his love and his laughter. Not going to be easy.”

John Mayer was a pallbearer at the comedian’s funeral

This isn’t the first time that John Stamos has professed his love for Bob Saget on social media. On the day of Saget’s memorial, Stamos tweeted, “Today will be the hardest day of my life.”

He was also a pallbearer at the comedian’s funeral on Jan. 14. Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three children gathered with over 100 of his famous friends and loved ones to celebrate the comedian. Page Six reported that, besides Stamos, John Mayer, Dave Coulier, Jeff Ross, Mike Young, Jonathan Silverman, Steve Hale, and Ted Sarandos were among Saget’s pallbearers.

Some of Saget’s fellow comedians attended the funeral, including Chris Rock, Jimmy Kimmel, Dave Chappelle, and Kathy Griffin. His former Full House co-stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Lori Loughlin were also present.
