John Oliver talks about his favorite ‘RHONY’ wife

Oliver was a guest on The Wendy Williams Show and it wasn’t long before the two talked all about the Housewives.

“Another thing that you and I have in common is that we’re both huge fans of The Real Housewives of New York,” Williams mentioned.

“World-class television,” Oliver added.

Williams loves to spill the tea on the different Housewives franchises, she even made a voice appearance on the Atlanta-based show this year. The show’s host asked Oliver which one of the Big Apple’s star was his favorite and he had someone in particular in mind.

“It’s difficult to say,” he replied. “I kind of have a soft spot for any of them who are entering the borderline of sociopath territory. So, I think Sonja [Morgan] is pretty incredible.”

Oliver recalled the second episode of the season when the girls go out to the Hamptons to stay a weekend at Ramona Singer’s home. The latter invites them to a party in a mansion that ended up being pretty dull, but Morgan’s antics changed that quickly.

“Just a couple of weeks ago when she went to that terrible party and nothing was happening of any interest,” Oliver recalled. “She took it upon herself to drink a dangerous amount of alcohol and basically produced that episode. She should’ve had an executive producer credit.”

The Daily Show alum also had thoughts on the new addition to RHONY this season, Leach McSweeney.

“I think she’s good,” he said. “She started quiet, which seems appropriate. You kind of sit back like a baseball player and you wait for your pitch but then that last episode, where she really took it to the house. Whack! That was magnificent. Throwing tiki torches, naked diving into a pool, and basically trashing Ramona’s house is… I like comedy, I work in comedy, I like funny shows but I’m not sure I’ve laughed at anything this year harder than I laughed at that episode.”

John Oliver loves Sonja Morgan

Oliver had previously echoed his admiration for Morgan. During his appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, he said he would quarantine with Morgan and explained his reasons why.

“I think Sonja has an ability to, in the mix of chaotic situations, bring out some profound poetry,” Oliver explained.

The comedian quoted Morgan using one of her most inappropriate lines that he found amusing.

“You die and maybe you catch some d**ks along the way,” Oliver quoted and added, “I mean, that’s the kind of thing that should be written in a heavily-bound book somewhere.”

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
