The first half of Stone Ocean dropped on Netflix in December 2021, and it was clear the series needed more time to round out its latest story. Things have been quiet ever since. But with Anime Japan underway from March 26-27, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has finally announced the release date window for Stone Ocean Part 2.

As of this writing, Stone Ocean Part 2 still doesn’t have a specific release date. However, the anime revealed when fans can expect it to return on Twitter. In the midst of Anime Japan, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure confirmed it will be back for the fall 2022 season. The fall anime season typically runs from October through December. However, Netflix may count September releases among its fall offerings as well.

That’s right, JoJo’s also confirmed that Stone Ocean will continue streaming exclusively on Netflix. This may come as a disappointment to those hoping for a return to the anime’s weekly release model — and to view it on Toonami again.

Ahead of revealing the release date window for Stone Ocean Part 2, JoJo’s also received a new trailer. What does it tell us about the coming episodes?

‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ drops new ‘Stone Ocean’ trailer

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure didn’t just get a release date window for Stone Ocean Part 2 at Anime Japan; it also received a new trailer from Netflix.

This was the perfect way to tease the anime’s return. The first look promises another action-packed addition to the franchise. It also teases some major developments for Jolyne Cujoh (Fairouz Ai Kadota/Kira Buckland), who will be working with some impressive Stand users in the next outing.

The trailer touches on Jolyne’s dedication to her father, and it also sees her vowing to “get close to” Pale Snake. The latest JoJo is committed to increasing her strength and completing the mission she started back in Part 1. Fortunately, she’ll have a decent amount of episodes to accomplish those feats.

In addition to unveiling the release date window and trailer for Stone Ocean Part 2, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure confirmed how many episodes viewers can expect. The Twitter post announcing the big news states that episodes 13-24 will debut in the fall. That means viewers have another 12 installments to look forward to.

Because the anime is being released by Netflix, all 12 chapters will likely be released at one time. If they follow Part 1’s lead, they should clock in at around 24 minutes apiece.

We’ll have to wait a bit longer for a specific return date for Stone Ocean Part 2. Still, it’s a relief to know the series will make its comeback this year. Further updates should arrive as the fall season grows nearer.
