The explosive Twitter smackdown actor Seth Rogen continued to deliver to Sen. Ted Cruz had a moment of satirical eloquence when Rogen’s friend, actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt added his own brand of shade that was equally as biting.

Rogen and Cruz’s spat began after Cruz tweeted that re-joining the Paris Climate Agreement meant that the United States was “more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh.” Rogen’s frank response: “F**k off you fascist.”

This ignited a days-long Twitter dispute between the two, prompting Gordon-Levitt to add his two cents.

Cruz’s response to Rogen suggested that Hollywood was disinterested in job creation. “Charming, civil, educated response. ⁦@Sethrogen⁩ If you’re a rich, angry Hollywood celebrity, today’s Dems are the party for you. If you’re blue-collar, if you’re a union member, if you work in energy or manufacturing…not so much,” Cruz replied.

Gordon-Levitt couldn’t resist, seeing that Cruz completely missed the point. “Mr. Senator, as @sethrogen’s non-threatening buddy, perhaps I can translate ‘fascist’ into more charming and civil terms,” he wrote. “Your support of the former President’s attempts to baselessly overturn a democratic election is reminiscent of supporters of Hitler, Mussolini, and others.”

Fans were here for Gordon-Levitt’s reply, with some suggesting the Twitter exchange be considered for a new film. “F**k yes!” one fan replied. “Get the whole gang in on this!! I smell a new satire flick brewing, from the team that brought us The Night Before! Completely incompetent people trying like hell to hold onto their government positions! I’ll take a non speaking [role] and access to yalls green room!”

Ted Cruz and Seth Rogen’s feud continues throughout the weekend

Grab the popcorn because the exchange didn’t end with the first set of tweets. Rogen tried to clarify what the Paris Climate Agreement was to Cruz by sharing a clip from an Allegheny County Executive.

“Hey @tedcruz. Watch this and then go f*****ck yourself you clown. (This is way more fun now that I know he’s for sure seeing my tweets),” Rogen wrote.

Later Rogen mocked Cruz for sharing that his favorite film was Fantasia. “Everyone who made that film would hate you,” Rogen wrote on the thread.

But then Cruz hit below the belt during the spat. “They’re all dead. So I think we’re good. And Walt Disney was a Republican. Even though you behave online like a Marxist with Tourette’s (screaming “F U! F U!” is really, really clever), your movies are typically pretty funny. I’m sure you hate that I enjoy them.”

“As someone who has Tourette’s in their family (and also has a very mild case himself), I once again take great pleasure in telling you to go f**k yourself. (Also VERY few cases of Tourette’s manifest in uncontrollable swearing. Most cases, like mine, manifest in twitching.),” Rogen replied.

“All jokes aside, @tedcruz is a fascist piece of sh*t,” Rogen dropped the mic on the argument.
