Josh Duggar’s Trial: Josh Duggar Photographed at Family Wedding Ahead of Child Pornography Trial

Josh Duggar’s trial ended in a guilty verdict on December 9. Family followers finally know when he’ll be sentenced. Judge Timothy L. Brooks announced that sentencing will take place on April 5. The news of an official sentencing date has reignited Duggar family followers’ interest in the supersized family and their troubled eldest son. Since the news of Josh’s sentencing date broke, photos of the troubled father of seven attending a wedding with multiple children around have surfaced. Duggar agreed to stay away from children that were not his own way back in April 2021 as a stipulation of his bond. So, did he break the rules?

What were the stipulations of Josh Duggar’s release on bond?

After federal agents arrested Josh Duggar in late April 2021, he had a bond hearing. On May 5, a judge allowed Josh to leave a detention center to await trial. He wasn’t exactly a free man in the months leading up to his trial, though. His bond came with several important stipulations.

Josh was not allowed to return to his home on the Duggar family compound. Instead, he had to live with a court-approved chaperone. Josh was not allowed to access the internet and could not live in a home with firearms. His bond also stated that he was only allowed to travel within the Western District of Arkansas.

In addition to those stipulations, Josh agreed to stay away from all minor children, including his nieces and nephews and his minor siblings. Josh was allowed to visit with his own children as long as their mother, Anna Duggar, was present. It is unknown how often Anna brought the family’s children over to visit Josh, though.

In late June 2021 months before Josh Duggar’s trial, David Keller, Josh Duggar’s brother-in-law, his courtship. David revealed via Instagram that he was courting a woman named Hannah Reber. Hannah is the daughter of Maria and LaCount Reber, the Duggar family friends who served as Josh’s chaperones. David and Hannah announced their engagement in August 2021 and married on November 19, 2021. The wedding took place just days before Josh Duggar’s trial began. David has since changed his Instagram name and gone private.

While Duggar family critics have found the couple’s entire courtship a bit suspicious, official pictures from the event reveal something even more interesting. The couple’s photographer and videographer captured Josh at the event. There were several minor children who were not his own at the event. Josh’s youngest sibling, Josie Duggar, was even part of the wedding party. Josie turned 12 in December. YouTube channel, Tuff Topic, broke the news on February 15, with stills from David and Hannah’s wedding video. Josh is clearly visible in shots of the entire family.

Did he break the rules?

Ahead of Josh Duggar’s trial, his bond agreement stated that he would not be in the presence of minors that were not his children. Still, he might not have broken the stipulations of his bond. Josh’s bond required him to check in with a parole officer. A parole officer had to approve any special events that Josh wished to attend.

Since Josh appeared in family photos at the Keller-Reber wedding, it’s possible that a parole officer approved a special request for the event. His court-appointed chaperones were, obviously, also present. Duggar family followers have not spied Josh in photos from any other family events held in the time between his arrest and trial. He was present at Jedidiah Duggar and Katey Nakatsu’s wedding, but that event occurred weeks before his arrest.
