Olivia Rodrigo’s co-star and ex-boyfriend, Joshua Bassett, has unfollowed her on social media a year after hit single, “drivers license,” came out. Olivia Rodrigo will return for season 3 of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’

Olivia Rodrigo was named Time’s 2021 Entertainer of the Year. In her Dec. 9 interview with the publication, the reporter confirmed that Rodrigo will return to High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for season 3 of the Disney show.

Since Rodrigo has found massive success as a pop star in 2021 following the release of her debut album Sour, there were rumors that she would not return to the series. Not only does the “brutal” singer have a busy schedule as a musician, but returning to the show would also mean working alongside her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Bassett. Bassett is believed to be the inspiration behind most, if not all, of the breakup songs on Sour.

In the Time article, Rodrigo is quoted as saying, “Songwriting is the thing I take most seriously in my life. It’s the most personally gratifying too.”

The reporter went on to write, “She’ll return for Season 3 of the High School Musical series, which starts filming in January, and maybe she’ll act more in the future. But music is her priority.”

It appears that Bassett has unfollowed the “good 4 u” singer on Instagram. It’s unclear when he stopped following Olivia Rodrigo, but the news is intriguing, considering they will continue to work together on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Bassett has 2.8 million followers on the social media platform, and he follows just 288 accounts. Rodrigo has 21.1 million followers, and she follows zero accounts.

One of Rodrigo’s most recent posts is a video clip celebrating the one-year anniversary of her debut single, “drivers license,” which came out on Jan. 8, 2021. The song is about her breakup with Bassett.
