1. ‘Notting Hill’

Need a romantic comedy? Turn on Notting Hill. Set in the charming neighborhood of Notting Hill in London, England, bookstore owner William Thacker (Hugh Grant) accidentally spills orange juice all over Anna Scott (Roberts), an American movie star. After their awkward first encounter, a romance begins.

As Anna, Roberts uttered the cheesy but memorable line, “I’m also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her,” in Notting Hill.

2. ‘Ben Is Back’

Holly Burns (Roberts) is surprised to see her son, Ben Burns (Lucas Hedges), a teen with a drug addiction return home on Christmas Eve. The R-rated film spans 24 hours and tells the story of how the family reacts to Ben’s return.

Hulu subscribers can stream Ben Is Back for free. The film is also available to rent on Amazon Prime Video for $3.99.

3. ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’

Two years before she starred Notting Hill, Roberts gave us another one of her most well-known performances. In 1997, she played Julianne Potter in My Best Friend’s Wedding, a woman who realized she loved her best friend, Michael O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney), after he told her he’d gotten engaged.

With only days before the wedding, Julianne makes it her mission to tell Michael how she feels and get him to end his engagement to Kimberly Wallace (Cameron Diaz).

4. ‘Valentine’s Day’

As the name suggests, Valentine’s Day (2010) is about Valentine’s Day and the expectations that come with it. The film follows couples at various points in their relationship as well as single people as they experience Valentine’s Day.
