Justin Bieber Defends Wife Hailey Against Trolls Saying He Should Be With Selena Gomez
Though Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber have been legally married for over two years, people can’t stop bringing up Justin’s past relationship with Selena Gomez. Gomez and both Biebers have said time and time again that they are over all of the drama surrounding comparing the relationships, yet fans can’t seem to let it go. Now, Justin is standing up to trolls who talk badly about his wife.
The relationship timeline
Justin and Gomez began dating early on in their careers. They were first spotted together in 2010 but didn’t make their relationship public news until the next year. They were pop culture sweethearts until 2014 when they called it quits.
“We were working out how to be in a relationship, how to be ourselves, who we were, in the middle of having people judge our relationship through the media,” Justin told i-D of the split. “I think that really messed my head up too. Because then, it’s like trust and all this other stuff that starts messing with your mind. You’re on the road. And there are beautiful women on the road. And you’re just getting yourself into trouble…”
While they were apart, Bieber began dating Hailey. Their relationship didn’t last long either. In 2018, Justin and Gomez rekindled their romance but the reunion was short-lived. By June of that year, Justin was back with Hailey and the two got engaged in July. In Sep, they got married in a legal ceremony.

Fans of Gomez’s have been upset at how quickly Justin moved on to Hailey and often questioned if there was any overlap in Justin dating both women. Hailey recently cleared that up.
“People don’t know, too, we had been talking for a while before we got back together,” she said on the Nov. 17 episode of Ashley Graham‘s Pretty Big Deal podcast. “Contrary to popular belief, he had been single for a while and I had been single and we were kind of just trying to figure life out.”

Throughout his time with Hailey, Justin has showed that he is not one to let people disrespect his wife. Recently, he called a fan out for urging people to troll Hailey.
“This sad excuse of a human just encouraged people on video to literally go after my wife telling people to say that my previous relationship was better so on and so forth,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “I just wanted to share this so that people get an idea of what we face day to day.
“It is extremely hard to choose the high road when I see people like this try and rally to gather people to bully the person I love most in this world,” he continued. “It is not right. But I will say this: As many people as there are that want to spend their time publicly degrading shaming and trying to humiliate us we would like to ask those who have it in them to life us up in prayer. We need prayer and support as we continue to put ourselves out there.”
